Great video! But for future reference... this machine WILL REMOVE just about any carpet stain you have- it's just that when it comes to more stubborn stains, you have to use a different approach. Boil some hot water on the stove (in a pot that's large enough to drench your carpet stain), then pour the water directly onto the stain and add a little cleaning solution directly to the spot, then use a scrubbing brush to loosen up the stain from the carpet fibers before you go over it with the Rug Doctor as normal. Remember that the hotter your water is the cleaner your carpet will be, because heat makes it easier to remove the grit, grim & stains.

Good advice . I used the grout tool attachment to remove grout from my bathroom and kitchen that had built up over 10 yrs of mop use, It didn't do much in my first use. However someone told me to heat the water and pour it directly on the grout then stir up with a grout brush. I then went over it with grout tool atachment. My advice is that if u can afford it just buy the darn till like I did. That way you can work at your own pace. Trust me this is my second machine. The first one lasted for 7 yrs but the plastic on the front end broke while I was moving it to the storing area. My fault though. I just went ahead and buy a new unit. Works lie a charm. My wife loves the new unit with all the attachments.

I just rented one of these the other day on 07/14/22 and it worked GREAT! Highly recommend. Two tips, though (1) when you unscrew the cover for the fresh water container on the machine bottle, the measuring cup device is attached on the inside of that cap. Fill that measuring device to the line, twice with the carpet cleaner solution and dump that into the water container AFTER you have already filled the container with water to the line on that container. Also, The hotter you get the water, the better the machine will work. So, you don't have to BOIL the water on your stove but, get it really, really hot, almost to boiling and fill your water bottle to the line with that really hot water. To fill the bottle to the line with really, really hot water, you will need 1.5 gallons of water. If you do this, the machine will work GREAT!

We have pets and for years I ordered a cleaner from the Melalueca company. Their products are chemical free... but I recently discovered a way to make the cleaner myself and all it is - Tea Tree oil. So buy a spray bottle from Lowes or Walmart. Add probably half of the small tea tree oil and the rest water. I promise it removes pet stains. (we have 3 dogs) it also removed a Sharpie permanent marker from my carpet which was about the color of yours and red Popsicle. Give it a try!

Let me know if you try it!

I own a carpet cleaning business, first thing you need to do is you need to pre-treat your carpet, the second thing you need to do is scrub the area where you pre-treat it. You need to let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes before you run any machine over it and make sure you agitate your carpet meaning scrub the spot with the pre-treatment first, the solution that rug doctor gives you is not as strong as the high end industrial stuff, are use the big green by basil and are use the rug doctor but I do Not use their chemicals.
@quintoncunningham75223 жыл бұрын
@Michael Smith So the chemical I use a zip Carpet cleaning solution from Home Depot.

DAWN IS YOUR BEST FRIEND....always remember that keep a small dollar store spray bottle or whichever you like. always keep dawn dish detergent on hand even if the stain is older most of the time this works on a rug or clothes put some dawn in a spray bottle this way you can dispurse and even amount on the stain let it sit for a few seconds take some paper towels that are wet and rub it on the stain let it sit some more then take clean paper towels soak it up and i am saying this like just on the same day of shampooing your carpet it will come out ...if your not shampooing the carpet and you spilled something first soak up as much as you can with clean paper towels then spray it with dawn doesnt have to be a lot .. a lot goes a long way and let it sit and just keep rinsing with wet paper towels or a clean rag keep some old white tshirts as rags around and you can keep rinsing it but trust me it works or even a degreaser from the dollar store the clear bottle with the yellow stuff works too can remember the name when i think of it i will post it lol hope that helps .

Yes I think I can see what went not as well....For the pet spots. You have to use a spray bottle and let that solution sink in. You need the clean hot water only the actual container. And you have to do it when you bring it back slowly on a pass. Then you can go back up and do it slowly again. Maybe only two or three passes on a spot. That has been the key in the other videos. And that matches the rug doctor website when they show you and explain how to get the best cleaning possible from their machines. And that might make a better and cleaner rug for you after all of this great work that you have done

Oh Lordy. I have six cats. When I came back to my moms house in 2005 to care for her until she passed, the rugs were already from 1974. And that was 2005. So you can imagine what kind of shape they're in. So I use my rug doctor to clean the carpets and then I laid almost wall-to-wall area rugs on top. I would love to help wood underneath but that was out of my budget. But I went ahead and bought a rug doctor. To me it was worth the investment. So I'm curious to see how well your pet stains come out. It's either that or 'rug doctor the cats' themselves....

I am surprised that nobody reported an issue with dumping the waste into a toilet. MANY people have made one or more messes, spilling the waste as they dump it into the toilet. To see the issue view my short video on KZbin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5naaqeOYteiq7M The issue is a design flaw. If you aren't aware of the exact dumping motion required to prevent waste getting around the tank's baffle you are in for a rude surprise. The British Columbia Rug Doctor rental representative replied to my complaint and said this model was terrible. He forwarded the link to my video to his superiors and within a year they pulled all the Rug Doctor Pros and replaced them with the old ones sitting in a warehouse. I rented a Rug Doctor yesterday and Safeway had only the old reliable Rug Doctors for rental. The Safeway employee said they regularly had people returning the Pro models and asking for their money back due to this problem.

If you ever update the video, I would suggest that you make sure you have all of your directions down pat for all of your devices ready to go so that the very last thing you do is put the very hot water solution and then you start cleaning up mediately. Especially if you have spot cleaned with the solution before hand. As you're doing a video your water is getting colder and colder. I don't know if it has a an affect on the cleanliness but I would guess that it might do such. And maybe in the future you might want to go on QVC for example and buy a rug doctor on May before payments are 5P by the time you add up a one day rental, and the cleaning solution and the attachment, and the hope you can get everything done in Exemouth of hours, it might be more economical for you and your home and your sanity. There is always a sanity factor at all the silliness that we do. Take care please thanks. Also, yours is the first video that says to go back-and-forth with the rug doctor. Maybe they have change the instructions over the years. But at one time you came out and then you came straight back and then you came back you did not go back-and-forth. So I will have to double check that. But I have this theory about whatever the hell works works just fine. Thanks

Is it just me? Your carpet already looked clean. I haven’t had mine shampooed in over 5 years. We have mostly floors, but the bedrooms are carpet and they’re awful. The texture, etc. I vacuum with a Dyson daily. I have pet hair from dogs and cats, and 2 children who ruin the carpet with *slime* and spilled paint. We are ready to replace so I hesitate to spend on a professional, but was considering renting this since I can’t stand this carpet
@BetteAvila3 жыл бұрын
Trust me, they were dirty, but I’m also pretty obsessive about cleaning. I have four kids, a dog and two cats. It’s a good in between option to clean up the carpet if you don’t want to spend on a professional. We did end up replacing the carpet in the long run bc it’s not gonna work miracles on worn out carpeting, which is what ours was.
@gailremp83894 жыл бұрын
It is far wiser to not put the solution in with the hot water. Make a spray bottle and spray the carpet let it soak for about 10 minutes and then use the hot water to extract. Some people say throw it all together but you're putting a lot of solution down in and it's not extracting pure hot coming out. I'm sure it turned out well but I've watched about 15 of these video nails and I'm finding that the spray the carpet first and let it sit for 10 minutes or so makes it far wiser procedure to use. So let's see what happens I'm all excited now
