Great interview but really disliked the opener. I disagree that he’ll only be remembered for 2015. Quality player that brought tons to the game.

Totally agree what an awesome player to describe it as a failure is incredibly harsh

Great player and great ambassador for rugby....hung out by English rfu for failure in world cup as a scapegoat.....great player and i say all this as a Scotsman......England were the better for having him

It may be a dark moment for Chris, but it was a very positive moment for many people around the world. A game is a game and someone has to lose, Chris is a great player, and should be proud of his achievements, but lets not just assume that England losing a home world cup is exclusively a bad thing.

Doesn't matter if they lost to Australia. No one was beating New Zealand that year.

Amazing how things change. So many tries from line-out mauls nowadays. In 2015 barely any. That said it was the right decision to go for the corner in the Wales game, just the wrong outcome. On another note, how great it is to see Corbs looking well.

Crazy that people and he thinks that he screwed up in 2015. So they lost to Wales and Australia, they were both good teams. England only won the world cup once. So if you judge teams and individuals on world cup victory then they all failed except once. It so ridiculous, there's always at least six teams good enough to win the world cup. He has had an amazing career.

An unbelievable one! Is the NZ series win the best moment for him as a captain would you say?

Good luck Chris in your retirement, you served England well.

Sure thing... Losing in a world cup is painful. Not getting out of the pool stages in your own home world cup, is worse. But why was it so goddmn soul-crushing for them? Teams lose in the big tournaments and the world cup all the time, it's part of the sport. One must win, one must lose. I think they just couldn't stand being knocked out of their own world cup by the Welsh. They've always hated the Welsh. And there's always been the rivalry.

2015 finally showed what a lot of people had believed all along. That Lancaster was way out of his depth. It really wasnt Robshaws fault.
@rugbydaydreamin2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Nothing wrong with Chris, even as choice as captain. I'd place more of the blame on Lancaster and RU as cracks were appearing in preparations prior to event and was neither surprised, nor bothered, by the outcome.

Would Robshaw make a team of the century for England?
@rugbydaydreamin2 жыл бұрын
@@WorldRugby Yes, without doubt. Robshaw's steadiness was just boring to watch in the era of guys like Burger, Pocock and McCaw. He performed, often very well and very unsung whilst sur-thriving the Johnson and Lancaster eras.

@@WorldRugby No, but possibly on the bench

@@rugbydaydreamin The Sam Burgess thing was ridiculous. Farting around with a wild card like that. You decide on your squad 12 months before a RWC and you stick with it as best you can. Lancaster was a muddlehead.
