I was at this game at Ellis Park in 2013, people do not realise how good this game was, it never stopped, even the fans were out on their feet. This is what the NH don't understand, SA and NZ do this just about every year, the level of these games are a above anything. This is Ali v Foreman over and over!!!

Granted this game was great. I remember it. But that shouldn't detract from NH games. There are always good games in the 6N. Just look at the Ireland France game this year. Was exceptional. Also - the gap isn't what it used to be. Don't forget All Blacks and Springboks lost to NH teams in group stage.

What I mean is the intensity the Boks and ABs have each year in this match allows us to have that extra gear in knock out games in the WC. I might be wrong, but nothing matches the intensity of Boks v ABs anywhere close to as regular as they do to each other...

I am a South African and die hard supporter. The Aussies will always be the arch enemies in cricket and NZ in rugby. That being said Ben Smith and Brett Lee was my favorite players in the respective games.

Yep imo Ben Smith is the GOAT fullback (yes even cullen who was admittedly better on attack but I reckon Smiths allround game is better) even though the AB's insisted on playing him at wing half of his career and they could of dropped mills earlier than they did. He really doest get mentioned enough because he was in a team packed with all time great AB's. The amount of times he saved our bacon in big matches on attack and defence was unreal.

I'm from Wellington - where it is near sacrilege to say there was any better fullback than The Paikakariki Express, Christian Cullen... But there is. There's one that's better than all of them, all the greats. He was the complete player. Talent, technique, smarts, heart and an engine that went full throttle for 80min. He had zero ego and he inspired everyone who played with him. Some might say, "oh he played on the best Rugby team of all time" Yes. And why do you think that is? Mills Muliaiina played 100 tests - an amazing feat. He oversaw the McCaw era from the back and played a key role in defining that teams style. Israel Dagg saw Millsy shown his marching orders MID WC - which speaks to how undeniable Daggs talent was. Surely another 10 year full back right? No. Ben Smith was THAT good that the young talented phenom who saw Mils Muliaiina dropped - then went on to justify the decision in a WC semi final masterclass was himself shown the door as soon as it became apparent what Ben Smith was. His career was cut short by a couple of very nasty concussions. And in a move as classy and as humble and as downright GOOD as his entire career was, Ben Smith recognised straight away not only what had physically happened to him, but the importance that his next decision could have on a generation of sportspeople to come - a generation for whom CTE would become a very real and visible issue. He made his decision fast, he made it clear and he did so whilst simply posting a picture of his newborn child and his Mrs. The next great full back, or winger or flanker will know... The greatest full back of all time retired at what seemed like a drop of a hat.. why? Because your family deserve your time too. Because CTE is very real and it is no joke. Rugby is the greatest sport in the world, a real microcosm of old fashioned values, work ethic and brotherhood (or sisterhood). Rugby is amazing. But it's just a game. Your family want you whole. Hero. Sorry for the rant lol..

Best test matches usually involve these two teams. I'm a Kiwi and generally consider the Boks the mortal foe but Habana and Etzebeth make me smile every time I watch/ watched them play.

What the greatest Test match is, is very subjective. I am a Springbok supporter, and this was a great game, but there was a greater match! 1999: World Cup semi-final - France 43 d New Zealand 31 at Twickenham. Remember that the All Blacks lead 24-0 at a stage! What a match and what a comeback The hardest test match? has to be the second test between the Springboks and Lions in 2009!

I'm a diehard boks supporter, but wow, watching Beast getting let off the hook that easy for that shoulder shit just shows how much the game has changed. IN HARDLY 10 YEARS. Games older than this barely even look like the same sport. Don't tell me the game's gone soft, a sport growing as much as rugby needs to protect its players! My parents didn't let me play at school, because they knew someone who died from a rugby head injury. Diminishing that perception is more important than "keeping the game hard".

Without a doubt...this was the most amazing matches ever screened on television. Not only were these two best teams in the World seriously going head to head when they were both at their best, but even the best referee of all time, Nigel Owen, was totally cramped & run off his feet, but did, as he always did, referee unbiasedly while still allowing the game to continue uninterrupted & at full pace.
