You can tell this dude loves this sport, but if he was in the NFL, he'd be one of THE highest paid players at any position he played. He looks for contact and a chance to punish a tackler. Amazing....

If any rugby forward played NFL they would be by far the best. Even amateur rugby players from tier 1 nations would murder American footballers on the field. American football is a contact sport, rugby is a collision sport.

Hyrum Leuea lmaooo there’s a lot more technique and IQ into fball than just hitting. He would be a lost duck getting hit from every angle if he didn’t have the IQ. Just like American footballers would in rugby. Don’t be ignorant.
@arnarmagnusson8201
@arnarmagnusson8201 5 жыл бұрын
heights163 true I think Hyrum leuea spoke a bit hastily. Rugby is more of a game of maintaining structure and order whilst simultaneously hammering your opponent and constantly keeping the pressure on them. Whilst NFL is more about individual skill about beating your opponent 1 v 1 and as the play stops after every tackle you can coordinate set moves and plays designed to confuse and misdirect players this causes NFL players to be specialised into their roles whilst rugby players tend to be more all round players in both attack, defence, strength and speed whilst nfl players are super strong but no speed such as linemen or speedy and agile such as receivers. I am not saying that these linemen can’t be fast or these receivers can’t be strong but I am saying in general. I would say that a rugby player is most like a running back in the nfl.

Do remember than Lomu was about 5" taller and quite a bit faster than Tuilagi and with the different positions as well it's all relative. It took the entire Springbok Backrow to get Henry down. With Lomu he started out as a forward, and when he switched to the backs it wasn't a fair contest 99% of the time. But to support what you're saying he did put Phil Vickery to shame!

Lomu ran 100m in 10.8 seconds. Alesana did it in 10.7, Manu in 11.4, and Henry in 12. None of the Tuilagis are 'way' slower than Lomu, and by the way, force = mass x acceleration. mass x velocity is momentum.

It didn't take 3 brothers for the Tuilagi name to be famous. It only took the first one - Fereti. In any case, as I said, Lomu smashed smaller players than the Tuilagi brothers. Who is harder to run over? 86kg Mike Catt, or 103kg Jean De Villiers? Not to mention the fact that Manu threw him rather than ran over him. Not even Lomu would have managed that one. Credit where it's due, without Lomu, we wouldn't see giant wingers like George North today, but Lomu wouldn't dominate today's game.

Lomu didn't need to use intimidation tactics such as the big hits and power plays and taunts that the Tuilagi boy's would use. Lomu was like a Hurricane, he was unpredictable, unstoppable, immensely powerful and everything that stood in his path was basically blown away! No exaggeration haha!

Difference between Lomu & the Tuilagis is that The Tuilagis family can tackle & put on hits,Lomu always needed the likes of Cullen or Wilson to make the covering tackle for him.Its a fact,it was in Cullens book he wrote.Thats why you hardly see any videos of Lomus big hits just tries.But he still is one of the BEST attacking wingers ever,but one on one with H.Tuilagi,I'm not sure?Thats a 50-50 to me.I think H.Tuilagi will steam roll Jonah though,just ask the South Africans,lol.
@Tenereus
@Tenereus 11 жыл бұрын
Manu Tuilagi was only 21 when he threw De Villiers. He's only 22 now. At 18, he was cutting up (an admittedly second string) springbok team. Besides, these days, there are organised defences, very solid tackling, and much bigger players. Lomu would of course still be a phenomenon, but not more so than a guy like George North or a Tuilagi brother.
@Tenereus
@Tenereus 11 жыл бұрын
Henry Tuilagi is arguably the strongest rugby player of them all - Sheridan has that reputation, and it's fair - he benches 250kg. But they gave that weight to Tuilagi... he repped it. That's outrageous strength, no wonder he managed to throw Joe Van Niekerk like that... But vs Lomu? I'm pretty sure they would both run straight over the other.

People talks about Lomu on this. With all due respect Henry will Kill Lomu or anyone who dare to run it straight to him. Yes Lomu is faster but in terms of power i dont think so. Part from that Lomu is still the man gotta love him.

Krystyne Penitani Lomu is one of a kind. Hes 120+kg that runs 10s 100m. Speed plus all that weight into it. He would be an extremely guy to tackle (he is). Henry has strength but if he wouldve gone head to head with the legend he wouldnt have a chance mte

Krystyne Penitani: I know your post is 3years old. My friend you know nothing when it comes to a "TITAN" of the sport. There are men such as Mr Henry Tuilagi here and there are Titans/Legends like Big Jonah. There isnt any comparison here, mismtach my friend, Jonah demolishes all that stand in his way including this man, he's taking your name mate regardless who you are..

Jonah was playing among smaller players in his era. Big guy lots of speed and would have no issue playing today. But tuilagi plays among giants. He could definitely stop lomu if lomu ran straight at him but lomu isn't going to do that cause he was also quite evasive. The real difference is lomu hit gaps and burst between defenders. Tuilagi makes gaps and busts defenses
