Sam Tuitupou made a career out of destroying opponents in the tackle. The former All Blacks is one of the most ferocious defenders that rugby has ever seen. Is he rugby's hardest ever hitter? #Rugby #RugbyHit #RugbyTackle

Great tackling technique, good form, goes low and is quite strong for his size.. Kids need to watch this.

Thanks for upload bruv. One of the hardest hitters outta West Auckland. I remember when the British n Irish Lions came in 2005 and they played Auckland provincial team. Tuitupou was playing, one of the English props did not respond well to Sams tackle n gave him a shove, Tuitupou responded with a flurry of punches which bloodied the English man's nose along with a black eye. The only ever time he reacted like this. It was great and added to his aura of being a fearless tackler✊🏾💯🇳🇿🇹🇴

Rene ended up about 103kg I think, so he was considerably bigger. Still a powerful player though

Sammy is the man. There are so many highlights that aren't on here. I can literally remember so many games that I watched on TV where he just hammered dudes. He absolutely hammered Greek Feek in one game (All Blacks prop). The first time I ever saw how riduculous he was was during an Under 21's game between NZ and SA - he was all of about 80kg then, which made him more enticing to run at. Little did those SA boys know that they would regret their decisions to run down his channel like he was your average 80kg player.

Most of the time Jonah was too out of position to do more than jersey grab. Put some big hits on now and then, but he wasn't great at marking up on defence.

When people talk about hardest hitters, a lot of the time they mention Sam Tuitupou because of the weight difference. Jonah was a beast, one of a kind, but for him to replicate Sam’s hits, he would have to be folding 140kg guys on the regular.

Half the shown tackles are late. Some are the outcome of a "hospital pass". The receiver has no choice but to actually take the ball the instant he is struck, with no chance to brace or fend or turn his shoulder in to the tackle. It is a legal tackle and Sam's timing is perfect. Don't agree he is the hardest hitter ever.
