Glad you got out to shoot even in the cold. It's always entertaining for me to see the results. Love it. My favorite ammo to focus on when you present your results are the eley target, cci standard, and sk standard. I was reading an article written by a shooter and he said that wolf ammo and the sk standard was made by the same company. If you compare the bottom of the casing of both of those you'll see the design is the same. Again thanks for another video. I was wanting to know what gun cleaning solvent you use. I was cleaning the other day using hoppes 9 and it stunk up the whole house. My wife was not happy and now I have to look for an alternative.

Thanks for the good review, especially the emphasis on the ammunition. Unless a rifle is a total custom job, chambers can be a bit different, which in turn affects ammunition performance. These Rugers are all factory jobs, so it will be a chore finding an ammo that works well in one. I know, I am going through this right now. I've run quite a few high priced ammo through it so far with less than satisfactory results. Now for the funny part. I shot CCI Green Tag through it, and it was abysmal. I shot the same Green Tag out of my old Remington 512 Sportmaster (My Dad gave it to me 65 years ago) and it outshot the new Ruger. And there is a vintage Weaver scope on the Remington. Go figure.

It's a weird world that .22 LR rifles live in! My CZ 452 American will put 2 of 3 Aguila Super Extra high velocity 40 grain bullets into the same hole at 55 yards, but throw #3 out. My 100 yard groups would all be .400 or less without that flier. I finally had enough and glass bedded the action and 2 inches of the barrel ahead of the receiver today! Hopefully, this brings it all together and solves that "flier" problem. It's just a rifle for small game hunting and recreational shooting fun, but my old faithful Marlin 39-A shoots .300 at 50 yards all day long and has been since 1976, so this new comer should be getting it done as well. We shall see. My son shoots the Long Range Hawkeye in 300 Win. Mag. and it does very well out there!

Also cold snowy weather typically is hell on 22 ammo unless it is Biathalon spec. Try Eley club, much better than target for little extra $$ A "new" ammo to try, Gemtec. Good video! I almost like what ruger is trying to do. I just don’t fully understand what they are doing. A precision rimfire, 2 target rimfire models, and no match chambers. I can’t argue against the precision rimfire bc it’s a good platform to build and they can be bought for $350. This rifles msrp is $600. I feel like there are better options and more accurate rifles for less out of the box. That is if this accuracy representation is the norm for these rifles. I could understand if they had 3 tiers of rifles as far as pricing and offered more features for each (match chamber). This imo is a “target” rifle in name only. Ruger is just getting a little too gimmicky for my taste these days. Just my opinion.

Yea I'm not quite sure what makes this "long range" and you are pretty much saying what everyone else is. They would have got it right with a Match chamber. Probably worth more around 400 bucks or so imo

Tony H I think the savage mkii fvsr is a better option. It has a terrible stock but its cheap enough to get a Boyd’s stock to drop it in. The tikka t1x is around the same money for what u can probably buy this rifle. Cz 455s are still available for less Even the ruger precision rimfire is a better option. The aftermarket support is plentiful. I’d probably buy any of those over this rifle personally. Again just my opinion.

@@blakebeene8188 I know Tony and he's got an fvsr that shoots well and it's in a chassis. I actually have a Tikka t1x mtr and it's by far the best 22 I've ever shot. Also had a cz457 and it was so awful I sold it. Nothing can beat the Tikka IMO

Corey D yea I’ve seen your 457 videos. It’s a tough break. I have a 457 varmint precision trainer that I had to work on a little to get to perform. Unfortunately since the 452 cz has kinda lost a lot in the qc department. The 457s are suffering the same early fate as the 455s were when they were first launched. Rushing to release and qc goes out the window. I’d trust a 455 at this point over a 457. I own a tikka t1x and agree nothing is better in the price point. The biggest problem with 22lr right now is everyone is chasing accuracy that just isn’t really there. With marketing being as it is ppl are bouncing around from rifle to rifle looking for something they’ll probably never find. Everybody is looking for Vudoo level accuracy in mass produced rifles. I’m guilty as well. I wish I would have bought a Vudoo and bought once and cried once. Lol I’m still considering it.

I had mine for less than a week, PROFOUNDLY disappointed in trigger, no front sling swivel stud for my harris bi-pod, am average size 5' 10" male and found stock ergonomics not quite right, tried the usual Eley, SK, Norma Target and Match ammo and found the accuracy/performance to be mediocre, traded it in at my local Gunshop for a CZ 547 MDT.

@@coreyd1474 I’m new to shooting .22lr “seriously”. Got the Ruger American Rimfire with the threaded 18” barrel. Took it out for the first time the other day and shot 100 rounds of CCI SV and at 50 yards I’m getting consistent .5” groups using a Vortex Crossfire II 2x7 with a bipod. I did torque the action screws to 35lbs before I went out. I’ve had the rifle for about 5 months and before firing it I had plans on upgrading the stock and the trigger and planned on shooting several brands of ammo. Honestly, I think I’m just going to stick with CCI SV and not change a thing. I haven’t had a chance to push it further than 50yards (my range has 300yard capabilities) but I’m excited to see how it fairs at 100yards. Thanks for the video!
