For the love of god man, it has been 5 years: WHAT IS THE SPRING DIAMETER AND TWIST RATE. This is literally the definitive video on a Gunsite Scout trigger job, yet we are lacking this incredibly pertinent information!

Good video thanks. I just did a polish only job on these parts and it brought the trigger pull to about 3 1/2 pounds just what I wanted. One note you can use a punch to align the sear to get it to line up so that the sear pin will go in very easily. Thanks again love these rifles.

Good idea on the polish only removing material making the rifle out of spec concerns me, I’m going to leave mine stock I think the trigger pull is good right out of the box for me anyway

Ruger has KZbin disassembly/assembly videos which list the torque value in it for the action.

going to do the same on my GSR. Definitely let me know the spring details when you figure out which one you ended up using.

Alright so, the robots have deleted this for the fourth time and apparently I can't hotlink an imgur photo of spring comparisons which is an incredible amount of bullshit. stock spring is 1.25cm long. Ernie The Gunsmith's LC6 spring is 1.75 CM long and 2mm wider than stock spring. They are both 5 twists because the Ernies spring is a much thinner gauge. The trigger will accept a slightly wider spring on its studs but not by much. I hope this helps.

21 ten thousandths. Not 21 thousandths. Buy another trigger if you remove that much because you will mess up.

any updates? you get the new stock or have any new targets to display after recent outings? Eager to hear how 2017 with the GSR is going and I'm about to start some more work on mine. Really wish I could find a good deal on Ruger M77 rings too

also, did you locate the spring size/weight? If so, please post.

I bought my GSR last month. I have noticed that if I don't eject the round quick enough that it will sometimes hang/stovepipe inside the breach. If I eject quickly and with enough force, the rounds always eject far. I have seen people complain about this on other forums. Have you experienced this issue? Just want your opinion before I contact Rugar... Do you think this issue will go away after I put more rounds through it? I've put maybe 60-70 rounds down range since purchasing it. Side not... I absolutely love this rifle! At 100 yards I can hold a 2 inch group with my Borris handgun scope.

Brian H ...Sounds to me like the brass is sticking. have you cleaned the rifle?? id try firing like 5 rounds at a time cleaning the bore between cycles with a brass bore brush and a wipe. also you can use a larger brass bore brush, just larger than the diameter of the casing to clean the chamber area. make sure not to try and run it down the barrel as it wont fit, just brush the area the shell contacts. maybe a brush made for a .38 or .45. there could be some coatings left in the chamber area from manufacturing that is causing the shell to catch. any coatings should wear and clear over time but this may help it clear up much faster. ruger has awesome customer service but i would try this first. lemme know how you make out

This is completely normal for a rifle with a standing ejector. How hard it ejects depends on how hard you work the bolt.

jjohnston94 This thought did cross my mind. Being my first bolt gun, I'm not familiar with normal cycling operations. I'll keep this in mind next time I take it out.
