I just found your channel, was looking for reviews of this carbine, enjoyed your review, target suite channel did review of same carbine but shooting +P ammo nby couple manufacturers specifically Underwood, had quite a bit more velocity, here in Texas problems with fertility hogs and Inam thinking this would be a good truck gun for that purpose looking forward to finding one as a companion to my 1911 but maybe even get me a Glock in 45 to matchup magazines

I'm at least as old as you, probably older. There was no way I was ever going to transition over to red dots. That sounded nutty. After spending a few hours on our range trying a couple of pistols and rifles with dots, I was hooked. I think it mostly has to do with old eyes not being what they once were. That's just me though. Nice shooting there

I’d always thought a .45 carbine would be a good camp gun, and when I saw the Camp Carbine I kept an eye out for one. Unfortunately they have become fairly pricey, and when pistol calibre carbine started to become available I picked one up. I bought a marine stainless JR carbine take down in .45 ACP. Glock magazines, and threaded barrel for suppressor . Added a red dot, and it functions well. The thing about the JR is that I can upgrade the trigger and other components . I’ve only put a few hundred rounds through it, and haven’t made any changes and don’t know if I will. Most shooting at 25 and 50 yards and it will put 5 in an aluminum can. I think the next thing is to try many available loads. It’s a fun shooter.

I have a couple of those Caldwell brass catchers that use the velcro cuffs, and they work, but they leave something to be desired. They tend to move around. If you have room on the rail, the one Caldwell offers that attaches to the rail is a lot nicer to use. It is easy off and on. You might want to check it out.

I’ve recently acquired the Ruger LC. I’ve got a SIG ROMEO 5 red dot on mine and it’s great! Currently my rifle is at the gunsmith getting an MCARBO trigger installed. Along with a spring kit by the same company. I also have a magpul angled fore grip on the MLOCK. TALON GRIPS-Rubber, and a STREAMLIGHT weapon light. You’re right though. The trigger kinda sucks. Easy fix though for a $100. And the gun otherwise is very enjoyable!

Well now this was a interesting video and a very interesting carbine. I do own the Ruger lc45acp carbine. I do like it and shoot it quite a bit. However, you are absolutely right about that. Horrible trigger. These carbines are not cheap and as much as you have to pay why couldn't Ruger have put a better trigger on this carbine. In my opinion, this is definitely where Ruger dropped the ball. I think probably there might be some aftermarket trigger updates. That Will come out eventually and when they do I will replace this horrible trigger.

I had a Marlin Camp .45 back in the 90's, traded a JP Sauer single action .357 and some reloads for it. That thing threw brass a long ways. I shot at a range that only had a 150 yrd rifle range. It took all the elevation the scope had to lob those 230's in there. I could hit the 20 oz. soda bottle at that range though. The 185's did better. At tha time National Bullet sold a plated 155 and l was going to get some and load them up. 1200 fps from a 1911 ao l suppose it would get around 1400-1500 from the rifle. Sold it before l could get any 155's. Traded it for $150 and a Thompson Pit Bull complete upper for the 1911. Wished l never did that. Saw a Camp Carbine in a pawn shop yesterday for $1000.

Trouble with red dots are the dots cover up a lot of target. Maybe try a magnifying flip up for the 100yd shooting. Even at 2x your dot will hide half as much. Or maybe throw a plain old 4x scope on it just to see how much more accurate it can be shot.

If you bullet makers would make a 101 grain 45 ACP+p loaded to mild "super" specs shaped with a 357 sig size flat tip fmj id appreciate it. Sorry but the 45 has been made wrong for a long time. And it doesn't need to be a hollow point. Which have literally been pointless... The solid copper light weight rounds are much more effective and you not only have the ability to carry more ammo, the weapons last longer, have less recoil, and have far less reliability issues I.e. heavy hard cast issues with some calibers. Look at Underwood 130 grain, and Grind Hard 111 grain. You really don't need the special defender tip with 45, but it does help. I just can't believe the guns and ammo community is still way behind. A 101 grain fmj with a small flat tip would be amazing for so many reasons in 45 auto. It would also be making mid 44 magnum power out of a carbine like this. Baruk Hashem

Well my point was you got two close together and a flyer and it repeated where would the other two land after a five shot group and the barrel warmed up that's all I saying

My thoughts is, almost any rifle can do a 100 yard shot, the only thing that matters is the shooter and barrel.

You should just shoot a 8" round steel gong at 100 yards - I'm pretty sure you would hit it every time - and that would make you feel better. And I would move back if you can and shoot at 150 yards - you may be surprised. It will drop some but not so much you can just hold on the top of the gong and make hits I bet.
