I love both and own both. SR9C is a little too big for the pocket where the P238 and P938 are perfect for both pocket and holster. At the range, I am much more accurate with the SR9C

The reason the nano is thicker in the slide is due to a poly frame 9 . There has to be so much meat to absorb the recoil without damaging the frame.

A lot of internet firearm experts and self defense gurus despise small calibers for defense. Spending time in Asia, we all duck and hide whenever we hear gunshots. We treat all gunshots as potentially deadly. We don't consider small caliber gunfire as non-lethal.

It should be noted when comparing the Sig P938 you are comparing the "extended" mag, which is the 7+1 (stock mag is 6+1 and sits flush). Also, you have the hogue grips on the P938 which creates a thicker grip circumference.

First off, great job with the comparison overall. The only thing I think you may want to add to this, because I am assuming you made this for folks who have little to no training and are in the market for a concealed carry pistol, is that the 3 guns with good sights will aid the shooter immensely over the LCP with virtually no sights. Having a natural point of aim, along with muscle memory, is only gained through extensive training to build the muscle memory. Secondly, the two Sigs should be loaded with the safety On. They are designed to be able to work the slide with the safety on, unlike a Colt Gov't it resembles. Great intro video though.

On the P238 or P938, you can't load with the safety on unless the hammer is already back. Simple rack the slide first, put the safety on, pop in a loaded magazine, and rack the slide again while the safety is on. You are correct, the 1911s have a mechanical stop when the safety is up.

You need a weapon that you will feel comfortable to carry. It needs to be small and light. For a close quarter defensive fight, you are not going to have time to look through your sights. You point and fire. Sights are not that important.

To answer your question, sig shooter, I would not buy the beretta because it looks odd. It looks like its made of play doh to me. The dimensions around the trigger do not look symetrical making it look bigger and not good for pocket carry.

never had a non-shooter type woman who could pull the slide back on the LCP, its rough to pull back even for guys, I carried one in my boot in Afghanistan and my partner did too, she couldn't pull it back both of our LCP's had the Crimson Trace Lasers because the sights are horrible.

I could never get 8 into the magazine, only 7. I had two extended magazines and both acted the same -only 7. They say 8 on the web site though so go figure,

Any automotive touch up paint with built in brush. brush it on, let it sit or 30min, the lightly wipe it off with a gun patch that has either gun spay cleaner or mineral spirits. Wipe lightly back and forth; lightly or you will take it all off. If you mess up, reapply and try again. If you find later on you don;t like it, spray with gun cleaner and wipe hard. All of the pint will come out. Easy Peasy.

The LCP is DEFINITELY not a good choice for a woman! I've had one for about two years and it kicks like a mule. It kicks significantly more than my Springfield XDs in 45 auto. The LCP is light and doesn't absorb any of the recoil. It can be a good carry gun if you can handle that recoil. Another key to a good carry gun is being able to practice with it. I take my LCP to shoot, but I definitely do not look forward to it. Many people, including men, have traded their LCPs just so they didn't have to endure the torture of shooting it.

I agree. Most. not all, CCW 380s are not fun to shoot at the range, but they sure do fit well in the pocket. This is very fine point for most of us and tough for the new shooter. 9mm and up are a little larger and easier to shoot/handle due to larger size, but for me just a little too big for everyday carry. If you all decide to carry the LCP, I highly suggest the Hogue grip. It dampens the recoil and make the LCP easier to hold, but still snappy.

Sig shooter The Sig P238 has very little recoil compared to the rest, it's really something you must try. I've shot all of these and by far the P238 shoots better and is more accurate than the others. The only thing you give up with the P238 is the weight, but that's part of why there is very little felt recoil and is actually a load of fun to shoot.

Come on, the LCP is not that bad, I've shot it accurately with one hand, which is probably what will happen if, God forbid, I ever have to use it to defend myself. The LCP is very manageable, nowhere near anything like a mule.
