They still use the m77 action in the Hawkeye series as well as the Scout and 77-Series. I have the SS Gunsite Scout and love the action and how it shoots. Its an absolute tank like all my other Rugers.

The original M77 models had sketchy accuracy, barrels were outsourced and it was a real hit or miss whey buying them. Wasn't until the MKII models that Ruger manufactured their own hammer forged barrels and accuracy became more consistent. They finally got a better trigger when the Hawkeye series was introduced. Now all you hear about is their entry level Ruger American centerfire rifles.

@@brianklamer3328 Mine is not that accurate either using heavy rounds. I have to use lighter 30-06 rounds to get any decent accuracy.
