You are planning to bug out and should not overlook security / defense. Your main objective it to get to your bug out location / retreat without resistance (and blend in if you have to interact with people). In SHTF you may want or need some extra firepower. The best is your daily carry CCW Gun, but if you want a little more reach Pistol caliber carbines are a great addition. The Ruger PC carbine in the backpacker stock is a great addition to a bug out bag. It's affordable and functional though not as sexy and a German MP5. How do they stack up?
Sorry just got over stomach flu and needed to get out and make a video. Sorry about the "out of it and winded nature". I'm hoping there is still some good content!

I love the Ruger PCC. In fact, 21 rd mags fit in the stock module. I store the Magpul 21 rd mag in the stock storage space while keeping a Magpul 12 rd mag locked in the mag well that still allows the forend to snap into place on the stock for collapsed storage/mobility. So it can be ready to go in a hurry with 12 immediate rds and 21 follow up rds if needed. Also, a bore snake can be stored in the hand grip. Nicely contained unit.

The 21 rounder fits PERFECTLY. I wondered if the 12 rd PMAG would fit in it's stored configuration. Thanks for confirming!

The ruger is the way to go IMO. The ammo is the same between them and the Glock magazine compatibility is nice saving weight and space. Carry the Glock and ruger in a bag and you’re good to go.

I agree, adding a Ruger pc9 charger on my list too. Mp5 mags are getting so expensive

@@HomesteadReliancei purchased the charger and it's awesome. I didn't even get a brace I just put a single point sling and called it a day. Super easy to stow away in a pack as well.

I live in Kanuckistan, so no MP5s. I am looking for a Magpul stock for my PCC,or even a Tactical rear stock. No luck that I can afford yet, as I'm paying off a CZ 527 (6.5 Grendel) right now. I also have a SUB2K, but the ergonomics are ridiculous as everyone knows. But it deploys from a bag quicker .

I'm hoping there are more offerings in the future for stocks for the Ruger. I love mine now in the backpacker stock! I have been just plinking with it and the can. It's my go to centerfire gun for new shooters to try out on the range too. Sad that you can't get MP5's, everyone should have at least one like a Glock.

I think that if I have an SBR in Texas, I cannot take it out of the state. I like that Ruger. I might have to pick up one of those.

@HomesteadReliance 20 күн бұрын
You can take it out of state with an ATF Form 5320.20. I had to fill one out and got approved for my move across state lines. You can also do it for trips too. The ruger has been great though so far!

i like and agree with the pistol and rifle combo... At my homestead I use a 357 mag revolver and Henry rifle , i have others in the safe .. but 357 is good to 150 and not many if any shots over one hundred here... The Henry is also a neighbor friendly rifle too... If SHTF once my "MAG" gets to the retreat..the"mag" wears olive pants and shirts with real-tree coats.. If things get rougher we all can go more tactical

I love my Ruger PCC but it felt redundant since I also own an AR9 and I was wondering if it was worth the space it took up in my safe. I recently ordered the backpacker stock for it which makes the takedown capability so much more useful and now I definitely consider it a keeper.
