I have 3 ruggables down as we speak - one in the bedroom, a rectangle 8X10 in the living room and a round matching one in the dining room. I have 3 different toppers (have to match the season here naturally) for the living room and will get a new one for the round probably next month. Because they are down for a relatively short time, i haven't yet had to wash any of them and only spot cleaned but I think the trick is not to put them in the dryer. I went with very modern florals and every visitor comments how lovely they are. Originally I went with the thin underpad but I like the feel now of the thick so the thin one is rolled up down the basement until my whims change yet again. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine! P.S. trying to lay the topper on the big one solo is not aided by 2 nosy cats who want to help.

We wash some of ours in the back yard with a garden hose and hang on a fence to dry. Summer weather helps! We always get pretty wet ourselves, though!

Oh my gosh, deja vu, you could have been a recording of a conversation I had with my husband 😂. Underfloor heating means you have to be careful with the backing on carpets/rugs as they don’t always work with the heat. Looks lovely 👍

Great idea - and yes, I am hearing a lot about them in the States - will enjoy seeing finished results - I still have wood on Floors and ceramic tile, but so many of my friends here in neighborhood have pulled up carpeting and wood because they have pets and had damage- gone with the Laminate floors -

Love the fact that Dolly loves it! I think it looks wonderful - these are very popular here in the US too. I'd really like hardwood (or laminate floors) but we live in a condo, and the living room/dining room is all one area, and the though of moving everything (and where to put it) while this is being installed puts me right off. Shame really, as I have some gorgeous Persian rugs which are just rolled up in the basement, and haven't been used since we moved here 16 years ago!

We've been in our house for 36 yrs. by Dec. I am 74 1/2 and Paul will be 75 in Nov. Our hardwood was put in to replace rugs in all 5 bedrooms; but on the main floor , its original and definitely needs to be sanded down and re-stained! a nightmare. because you have to remove all the furnitire as well as doing the job....woooof

Hi, here from BC, Canada here. I have two “ruggables “ and really like them . The long runner I have in my entrance hall has been in the washing machine and it turned out great (I have an 80lb doodle so great to be able to wash the rug)

Hi Helen, had never heard of a Ruggable Rug so looked it up and reviews were excellent and I see that one of your American viewers has replaced the thinner base with a thicker one. It looks lovely on your dining room/sitting room floor and isn’t Katie great. Will have to tell my hubby about these rugs. I had laminate throughout the downstairs, into all the rooms but have since carpeted and only left the kitchen and dining room in the wood. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿xx

Most wooden flooring can be sanded down about 5 times to get rid of marks and re stained/varnished, but rug looks good .

This is interesting. I’m going to have a look for my hallway. Our main floor has hardwood to the front door. At the moment I have an IKEA runner that is fine but this could be much better. Washable in a Canadian winter = bliss. My husband cringes when I say “I’ve been thinking “😂😂🇨🇦🇨🇦. I’ll send the link to my son and daughter in law. They have and almost five year old and a three year old. Their area rug is a disaster. Thanks Helen

Really like the design of the rug gable rugs, goes so well with the grey/blue rattan chairs so good choice by you!don’t envy you getting it up to wash! Hi Helen, I purchased one of the rugs last year as a runner, yeah, what a faff putting it down over the underlay part, but once you master it it’s all good, I’ve washed mine couple times and comes up good as new, your pattern and colour choice was a perfect match, Sue

No, they go in the machine. It's quite lightweight. It wouldn't go in my machine, but I think it would okay in a launderette. xx
