We discover the most north-western part of France. A paradise for people who enjoy good food mixed with historic towns, hikes through great landscape and swimming at the occasional sandy beaches.

Beautiful video with a great attention to framing, lighting and camera movements. The backgtound music is nice too. A little nuance : only meaningful when talking about France : sailors who were mandated by the king of France to attack designated foreign boats (not only British ones) were called _corsaires._ It's the "freelance" outlaw ones who were called _pirates._ But the tricky thing is both words are quasi-synonyms in English, the British equivalent of French "corsaires" is "privateers" because corsairs weren't always mandated by the king of England. Sorry in advance if it seems confusing but that's how both countries used very similar words with slightly different meanings. The "real" location of Asterix' village is located on the north coast in Erquy. Even if my family is from Brest and that I really love this city due to the fact I have lots of good memories of the place, the city center has a quite brutalist architectural style that will make me diplomatically say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But that shouldn't deter anyone to _faire un tour à Lambé..._

@chucku00 thank you very much for your explanation! Getting information first hand from someone that really knows the area is of great value 😍. The distinction between pirates and privateers is super interesting!

Hello! Thank you for sharing your beautifully created video. I’m planning to visit Brittany, and was wondering if you could share some info - would Saint Malo be the best ‘base’ to see the sites you showed such as Pink Granite coast as day trips?
@curiousglobetrotters7 ай бұрын
Hello @wheretonext370 thank you very much ! Our advice would be, to either split the base between Saint-Malo and Brest, or choose a small town in between these towns, where you can drive in shorter times to all the highlights in Brittany. We hope you enjoy your time in this part of France as much as we did! :)

@@curiousglobetrotters A department is missing: Loire-Atlantique and Nantes the former Capital of Brittany

@@GildasChatal Administratively, Nantes is in the "Centre-Val de Loire" region. Historically, that's different.
