It doesn’t matter to which religion a concept belongs, the thing matter is if the concept is correct or not. You probably would have heard about Mawlana Rumi. He has been a well-known Sufi person with his book being referred to as the “Quran of the Farsi language”. In his initial times, he was a person just restricted to Sharia until he met Pir Shams (A.S) who guided him to the next levels above Sharia. These levels include starting with the Shariat, comes Tariqat, Haqeeqat and then the Marfat which is greatest of all. He used to defy all the concepts of Tariqat, Haqeeqat and the Marfat but then upon guided by Pir Sham (A.S) he got to know about the reality. He has quoted in his Masnavi Rumi that he was initially a stone, and was then send to this world as different animals and then got a chance to be a Human being. He says after human being what would he be next? He added, he would be an angel (who are made from the soul of Allah and are free of all evil deeds) and then? He would go further than this level. So what is the level even higher than the level of the angels? It’s the level where a soul unites with the universal soul of Allah which we refer to as Fanna fi Allah. Even Allah Himself says in Quran; “How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him, you will be returned” (2:28). We should always remember that we are not the Physical body that we see but in reality, we are the soul which has been separated from Allah and has the aim to reunite with the universal Soul of Allah. Allah says, “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return” (2:156). Hope you understand.
