You should’ve went further to Ski Apache and rode the gondola up to the top top. Those are breathtaking views! You could see Alamogordo, Tularosa, white sands moment. 👍🏼 Then rode the zip line down. It’s the longest zip line in the world.😁 My tribe owns the ski resort. MESCALERO APACHE!!!! 👊🏼

Brings back a great memory - crossing the US from California back to miami 1981 - I had to stop in Ruidosa to pick up a lady that I had dropped off there on the way to California to visit her friends - I drove over the mountians at night in my 1980 Z-28 camaro - I was riding above the clouds on a full moonlight night - it was the most incredible ride looking down at the clouds on the side of the road - there was no one else on the road and it was the most peaceful ride I think I had ever taken. Its like you never want to leave and just keep driving.

Have you looked at Silver City, New Mexico? We hung around there for the better part of a week while we were living on the road and even considered settling there but finally decided it was just too far away from any services.
@OutdoorsWithRon

Just curious, what services are missing in or near Silver City? I've spent some time there and also am considering that has a home base one day.
@JimForeman
@JimForeman 5 жыл бұрын
@@OutdoorsWithRon That would have been in 1989 and there was no airline service of any sort closer than a hundred miles in El Paso and that was basically commuter service. No hospital and the locals didn't have many good words for the few doctors there. Don't know how much it has changed since then.
@OutdoorsWithRon

I was born in Ruidoso NM. That road is really fun in the winter time snow packed, a little scary lol. I would go skiing every week in the winter. In the winter time they have the road closed going up after 4 p.m. or 4:30 so they can have both lanes open for people coming down the mountain, that's when you really see the crazy drivers. There are hardly any guardrails. When I see the road crew in other parts of New Mexico putting guard rails on barely even a little dip, I laugh and say why don't they go up to the ski run and put them up there, so they will be of good use. You know what I'm talking about! Haha. Have fun on your road trip:)
