That's not Gregory...
Since the release of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach's RUIN DLC, FNAF fans have been left with more questions than answers. What was the Mimic thing at the end? Why did Gregory betray us, and who was his friend? What the hell was that cardboard ending?

i haven’t seen anyone talk about how sad the jump scares are in ruin. in past games, it was just the animatronics way of killing you. but in ruin cassie tries to fight for her life (pushing monty’s jaws away, attempt to push off the mini dj man off her, etc) it gives it a more realistic vibe since an actual person would try to stop from getting killed instead of just letting it happen

To be fair the game was inspired by alien isolation where saving was a risk but unlike alien where the alien had a dynamic ai this game had terrible design overall. The system done right can make any game even tenser but the execution was awful

14:24 the reason why it never happened on your playthrough is because in order to trigger the jumpscare, you have to get to the daycare attendant without turning on all of the generators, there are two jumpscare variations, one for not turning on a single generator (which is what you triggered), and the other is when you turn on one of the two generators

I knew Gregory was bad from the whole “turn of all the security line”, I knew it was the MIMIC when I heard it use one of the lines Gregory said to Freddy in the basegame, in the exact same tone (emphasis and all)

One thing i like is how more and more obvious it was a chatbot of some kind instead of Gregory. Sure the first time or two hearing the radio raised an eyebrow, but moments like that tunnel made it stand out a ton.

Notice in 35:29 how the captions split up into two different “Gregory”s. Normally it continues as one for the whole dialogue. I believe the one saying “It’s not your fault (…)” is the Mimic, since it’s a different Gregory and the one guiding us in the tunnels and leading us to the elevator is actually Gregory and the one that crashed the elevator is the Mimic gaining control of it (the Mimic is spread all around the Pizzaplex but it most likely didn’t know that part of it existed because it was stuck in the system for a while, and if it did, it would probably not follow Cassie into the scooping room in the other endings, so I’m guessing it quickly went and hacked itself into the elevator to kill Cassie.)

There a lot of fan theories about that, Gregory has always been one ruthless kid. I am not sure dropping the elevator makes sense, I bet mimic can crawl out of the shaft, Gregory is good at escaping. One thing you forgot to mention in the princess quest room (or Vannys hideout) is when you take off the mask and look near the table with the lantern, you can see a drawing of glitchtrap on the wall.

One of my favorite things about Ruin are the jumpscares. Cassie actually appears to put up a fight, albeit a futile one, showing that she has a sense of self-preservation.

"Ruin" is less game and more "curated horror experience," but that's OK! A lot of the FNAF fan games fall into the same category and they're great, too. I'm really impressed with how much Steel Wool took from the fan feedback and incorporated it into the DLC. Adding auto saves and chapters (!!!) was a huge improvement and personally I love the mask mechanic. They made the more maze-like areas like the Daycare much clearer to navigate and making the flashlight infinite was the right choice. There are certainly still questions and I've still got no idea what the point of the collectibles are, but this is a huge improvement over the base game. And Cassie is much more likeable than Gregory.

Though I really liked Roxy and Cassie's relationship (theyre like Freddy and Gregory) I really wished there was more to this game rather than just solving a few puzzles. The headless Freddy is a prototype, it clearly says that on it's foot. The Freddy with Gregory did not have that in the repair minigame, so they cannot be the same. Prototype also has a green giftbox in it's chest cavity when the one in the main game had a yellow one.

I disagree. There are a couple of answers and clarifications. 1st - Princess quest and the free Vanny ending is confirmed the canon one. The blob still exist, but it wasn't Burntrap on the basement, it was the mimic all along. 2nd - Bonnie was not killed by Monty. Monty worshipped Bonnie. Bonnie seemed to give it's position in the band willingly. That's an important clarification. Bonnie seemed to have survived his fate by uploading it's consciousness into the wet floor caution bots. That's why you find it surrounded by caution bots and with it's eyes lit, but after deactivating the last one her eyes finally shutdown. Effectively. We killed Bonnie for good. The Monty shrine and the presence of a caution bot there speaks of Monty still workshipping Bonnie and maybe even showing the place were Bonnie fell from the catwalk. It may not be a Monty Shrine, but a Bonnie rockstar memorial. 3rd We got confirmation of tales of the Pizzaplex being canon to the main series. 4th We got confirmation of Gregory and Vanny partnership (only hinted by the therapy tapes). The static tries to shield the pronoun HER during the final chase, but before dropping the elevator he says "We" can't risk being followed. 5th Confirmation of someone involved in Sister Location continuing William's work and using a scooper. There is a reason we are revisiting SL on Help Wanted 2 and this has to be it... They are going to clarify... 6th Confirmation of the status of Gregory and Cassie. Both are Children of Pizzaplex employees. Cassie of a technician. 7th Confirmation of Gregory's personal records being eliminated from all databases after killing his parents. There are Missing posters of Gregory in the AR version of the Salon, when doing the giant scissors node, this section also features a Cassie and Gregory cutout. 8th Vanny mask has a custom firmware and runs a corrupted version of helpy to help her move faster on the pizzaplex 9th Even if the PQ ending is canon, it's clear that Gregory destroyed all the animatronics on that go. 10th Confirmed escape rroute Henry hinted at Pizzeria Simulation underneath the Pizzeria where you find an intact candy cadet "Although there was a way out planned for you" Which means Mike could still be alive. 11th "This is from the old headset game" Firmly puts Help wanted canonically waaaaay in the past for Cassie 12th Fazbear has prototype technology that can dissipate matter in AR mode, hinting at displacing matter between dimensions. 13th The fact that the wet sign bots have children sounds on it can point to two different things. 1 it's a nod to people enjoying their time in Monty golf, where Bonnie died or points to someone capturing children in this "AR dimension" 14th The importance of moon/sun room... When you go into AR mode there you can see the sky and eclipse pulsing weirdly. Maybe morse code. In AR mode the room reverts itself to the way it was when someone was living there. Worth note the differences. 15th The Brazil ending seems like Cassie fantasy, but has a weird detail. It contains a sad/angry Vannesa, which i do believe is canon. If Cassie is having an hallucination to escape from reality as she is about to die, there makes no sense for Vanessa to be there. This MAY BE hinting at the connection between Gregory, Vannesa and Gregory hacking skills by having Helpy on it's side Just a food for thought thing... Candy cadet story mimics the DLC, but also is the same story as Sister Location. Baby said she was good at "Pretending" and by that point in the story we are not even sure if that is Baby at all or if Ennard has been in control the whole time just pretending to be Baby using us to escape. So no Theftking. I don't think the game lacks lore, nor explanations. In fact to me this feels like the most satisfying in terms of lore clarification the series has done, but SteelWool overplayed their hand in my opinion and gave away too much of the importance of HW2 and the connection to the Tales of the Pizzaplex series, because they don't have the same level of restrain Scott had to fragment the lore. Btw Cassie is not 11 (at least there is no evidence for this), her Birthday was on the 11th and her Birthday is coming on the same month we are playing currently

It's nice having a Fnaf youtuber basically layout the criticism I've had with Fnaf for a while, mostly with SB and now Ruin. It was nice building lore and shit in the earlier days when it was just the main games but NOW we have the games AND books, and now movie here soon, to go through to understand shit and it just gets less fun after a while. Yeah lore building was fun but when that's all there is with nothing concrete to build on it's just... bad.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I made my first video a year-and-a-half ago because I was very underwhelmed with _Security Breach_ and felt like many of the KZbinrs were treating the series with kiddy gloves. Interesting to see how things have come full circle. That said, RUIN is a substantial improvement over SB, and most of my qualms are with the story, not the gameplay. Gameplay is most important.

I don't mind the horror aspects - I think the game managed to be creepy and unsettling and have fun cool moments in spite of it feeling very different. The gameplay and visuals and stuff were really solid. The livestream VOD of my first, midnight RUIN playthrough is on my channel - 100k people saw me playing it and having fun. I did. There's no denying that. It's really just the narrative never going anywhere that's getting old.

Tysm for the story in only a 42 mins video! When I was starting to get the lore, I got more questions I needed answers to and more to uncover. I’m actually still not sure if at the Main Ending, it was actually Gregory, or still the Mimic stopping Cassie from Escaping (she may not have died though). How would the ACTUAL Grergory have known that there was a Mimic trapped down there, and how would he have made the elevator fall? (I haven’t watched this whole video yet, but I’ll make sure to later.)

They’re nicer to Cassie because they know who she is. She’s in the “guest database” thing Freddy mentioned at the beginning of the game when he couldn’t find Gregory’s guest profile, which is why he didn’t know him. Cassie is in the database, which is why the anamatronics are nicer, because they know who she is.

I definitely agree with this review of Ruin. They did an amazing job on the visuals, i like the autosave features and chapters; but overall the storyline was lacking to me. It almost felt “too predictable”. It’s still an awesome game, but i was hoping for more answers to some of the questions, more secrets to discover. I get the fact that they wanted to keep multiple options open, but i had the feeling that something big was missing the entire time. Like how the blob was there but hidden, and how there’s a way to restore the voice box to chica and stuff like that. It’s still a beautiful game. I was just really hoping for more lore or at least some solid answers.

I think it’s actually a demonstration of the M.X.E.S security program which kept ahem “Gregory” (fake one) from escaping but was not strong enough to kill it Also cassy may have also switched on the program when she pressed the button after switching it off

There is Glamrock Freddy but he is with Gregory, The Glamrock Freddy ruin you see is just an illusion as when you put the VANNI Mask you can see the endos thingy on the other animatronics. but when you put it infront of the Ruin Freddy there is no endos meaning that Ruin Freddy can be an illusion. It does actually confirm that the princess quest ending is Canon, my evidence is that Gregory draws all of the non-canon endings burn trap is one of them crossing that off the only one that isn’t drawn and shows up in a secret ending in ruin is the princess quest ending. There is one problem - the connection between the heroines is non-working. We'll find out at the very end, without any eyeliner. And if you remember that Cassie turned off the wolf, then she could not come to life in any way to cover her back from William (who was turned into an Imitator because Scott was afraid of popular anger - everyone was so tired of Afton and his endless returns). This is an undisguised manipulation on the part of Scott. He also designed the hero in such a way as to resemble Roxy. Was it really so difficult to think through this turn in advance? I will not take away from people a potential source of creativity, which is still heads and shoulders higher than the current state of FNaF, but keep in mind, at this rate, FNaF will not live long. Don't take everything at face value from the authors.

That was definitely the real Gregory cuz he mentions a "friend" who gave him the schematics which is obviously Vanessa who was saved at the end of the original game

Honestly I think the auto save is much easier so you don’t have to worry about how much you’ve progressed without saving, but the manual save also had the benefit of saving at specific moments so you could go back to them. 24:01 THIS IS A MY OPINION/THEORY Where the glitch is on the wall, I’m thinking lots, in the princess quest where the princess destroys the wall with her sword, I’m sure that the glitch has been destroyed and is now dead. The purple aura energy which is being attracted into the sword was probably due to the strong attack that the princess did in the quest. And for all I know is that the princess has probably escaped the game and entered the real world due to her sword being stabbed onto the arcade machine when u wear the vanny mask but when your not wearing it all there is, is a lantern. No glitch was on the wall, no purple aura/energy being attracted, just a lantern. The lantern in which the princess had been using throughout the quests, So my main questions are and what I want to know: what happened to the princess? Had she escaped from the game? Had she saved herself after destroying the glitch? Where is she now, dead or alive elsewhere? Was she still in the pizzaPlex but just hidden somewhere secretly? Did she leave the pizzaPlex?

The game confirms that the princess quest ending is the canon one. You can unlock diferent drawings from Gregory that display all endings except the princess quest one. The description of this confirms that they were fictional events that Gregory thought about.
