Hi Mark, old denim jeans I always use for chair, works well, and stays together once it is char, it don't fall apart as soon as you touch it. " I did like the pot hanger clanger,😂 We have all done something similar, normally when I'm doing my first cuppa. Another good video mate, and trust me when it comes to videos and cameras your a genius compared to me ! Keep the videos coming bud really enjoy the work. Regards Moose

Mark, making char cloth is quite easy really. There's loads of different tutorials on KZbin for making char cloth. You're right in that you need 100% cotton material, after that it's just about heating it until it stops smoking. Let it cool down, have a quick check that's all burnt and your ready to go. Was interesting to see what happened to yours. 🙂 You're right in that you can use punkwood also. Charwood lasts longer with an ember, which I have found to be better for a birds nest. It's all good fun learning though, i've made loads of learning opportunities for myself also.

Nice one , thank you. I did manage to make some char recently. Looking forward to testing it out. I think I'll keep it simple and just use cotton for a while then experiment with other materials . Thank you for your feedback . Take care 👌🏕

Mornin' Mark. Good job on getting that fire back up 👍. Looks like the tin did what it was supposed to, just the material that failed. A lot of people recommend denim for char cloth.
