I acquire the fragments of a couple of sets of Ruins of Middle Earth, an old Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game terrain kit by Games Workshop. I clean, repair and paint the models for future use in games of Frostgrave.

These ruins will fit well into a district of Old Felsted. The final step of sap green is my favorite part of your process. The mossy green really gives the ruins and buildings an ancient and overgrown feeling. It makes it look more realistic than plain dusty grey walls.

Thank you. It ain’t a ruin unless it’s nice and mossy.

You’ve done a fantastic job with these. The joke is as terrain they are likely to be some of your most used “miniatures”. So well worth doing. I would only cheekily comment I noticed that in scraping the glue off, you keep pulling the knife towards yourself, including quite near to the other wrists, always cut away from yourself! Unless accident and emergency is a lot better in Canada than in the UK.

Nicely done! The original owners of those ruins did glue them together in some strange ways though.

Thanks Mort and yes definitely not how I would have put them together.

Nice find. I like the fact you didn't strip them before repainting them.

Thanks. I believe that in most cases the old paint job is a good base coat.

Oh my gawd! You’re right. How embarrassing. I just got caught up in the alliteration and forgot to double check. Now the ghost of his dog won’t leave me alone. Thank you for the correction.
