I have to warn you folks. I am a retired airline pilot and places like this, the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids are NEVER like this. From the way these folks are dressed it must be close to winter. In the summer the people are wall to wall and it is no fun at all. The tourist bureaus want you to think it is open like this but the truth is it is jammed with people. Mostly American and Europeans and obnoxious ones at that! Go to these places in the off season if you can. It is slow like this and usually much cheaper. Pompeii and Herculaneum are worth your time and money!!

That 'flooding' that was mentioned in this clip? Well, it was a little more than that-it was open sewage. There were no underground sewer systems in this town, but Herculaneum did have them, that's why there are no stepping stones there.:--)))))
