Why you can't? Jack Jaguar states to shuffle into the deck, but extra deck is not deck specificly. Why should Falco check, whether the card is still in hand instead of going to the extra deck? @@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective I've been trying to think of a good explanation for this, and I think the best I've got is just that the "Deck" is a little ambiguous. Cards that return to specifically the "main" or "extra" deck would behave similarly to cards that return to the "hand", or send to the "GY". For example, Ehther, the Heavenly Monarch must send two Monarch Spells/Traps from your hand/deck to the GY, and if you do, special summon a monster from your deck. If Macro Cosmos was chained to that activation, you would banish two Monarch Spells/Traps from your hand/deck, and not summon a monster because you were not able to send those cards specifically to the GY.

Great video man, you did a good job explaining the rulings. As someone who recently got back into yugioh from the old days (not professionally), damn these rules are convoluted. How is anyone expected to get into yugioh from a fresh start? I'd have thought the paragraphs of text on the cards would explain how they function, but there's a ton of contradictory (without specific prior knowledge) situations per card that need research to understand. I looked up as many rulings in 1 night of yugioh as I did in 5 years of MTG.../rant. Still a good video.
@tgby5 жыл бұрын
A precedent to the Salamangreat Jack Jaguar ruling is Daigusto Emeral and Pot of Avarice. Both say to shuffle into the deck, then draw X amount of cards. Both also are previously ruled to allow you to draw even though you returned all Extra Deck monsters. Contains similar wording. And also, the different conjunctions should not make a difference in the ruling, considering it's between "then" and "and if you do", where the only difference is simply sequential vs simultaneous.

One thing that is relevant for Jack Jaguar: Cards that want you to shuffle other cards into a certain place refer to that place very precisely. This sounds condescending, but I promise it's not. It's better to just learn game mechanics, than it is to just read what others say. Especially considering if you only know what others say about specific situations you're constantly going to be coming up on situations that you can't resolve without an outside source. Just check out all of the super in depth resources Konami has made available online, and even just reading the rule book is insanely helpful.
@Jebediah25 жыл бұрын
The official rule book is the place to start, and it covers a surprising amount of stuff, so don't write it off as all basic knowledge. Then after that, you should read the 7 part problem solving card text articles on Konami's Yugioh blog (just search "Yugioh PSCT Articles"). That will get you set for the vast majority of rulings. If you really want to dig in, ygorganization has a 13 part series on advanced rulings that cover quite a bit (search "ygorganization demystifying rulings"), but they're worth a read. Also, though most rules are the same across regions, be aware that there are rules differences depending on which region you're playing in, which I'm not sure are highlighted in those articles, so be wary. If you have any specific card interaction questions, the Reddit rulings megathread that gets refreshed every week is a great place to ask.

1. If you want to use the re-link effect of Sanctuary, you just state you are using it. The action of that plus performing the link summon is enough to establish that's what you're doing. It's not an effect that you trigger, you just state that you are using it. Much like using an effect to have an extra normal summon through a card like Gem-Knight Seraphinite. 2. You may re-link summon Balelynx only with Salamangreat Sanctuary because it requires a material that is never going to be a link monster. ANyways, If this is the case, during damage calc, can u create a chain link using violet chimera cl1 to double attack and cl2 sanctuary to gain life? Let's say your opponent is attacking your link monster with their Salamangreat Violet Chimera, while you control a Salamangreat Sanctuary. Because Sanctuary is a trigger, and Violet Chimera is a quick effect, if you chose to activate it, Sanctuary would be chain link 1, and Violet Chimera would be chain link 2 if your opponent chose to activate its effect as well. EDIT: I think I just realized what you meant. You want to target a link monster you control that's not a part of the battle, just to build a chain in such a way that Chimera's effect cannot be negated. Unfortunately, because it's a trigger effect, Sanctuary will have to be chain link 1

If you shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Can you relink more than once with sanctuary effect in a turn. I thought you could only do it once with sanc’s effect but people at my locals are saying you can do it more than once in a turn.
@MSTTV5 жыл бұрын
Ok, no you cannot use the field spell more than once per turn. 2. You can relink without using the field spell by just using the recipe listed on the card. 3. Relink only means: Using a monster of the same name to link summon into another copy of itself. If you use Sunlight Wolf and a Jack Jaguar and link into Sunlight Wolf, that new Summon Sunlight Wolf is "relinked". All relink means is a coined term by the anime where a link monster used another copy of a monster with the same name as link material.

I need to know about 1 of salamangreat sunlight wolf's (SSLW) effects. When you choose a monster from your GY and add it to your hand, you cannot normal or special summon cards with that name for the rest of the turn. My questions are 1) does this apply to the monsters I sent to the extra deck? 2) example; I summoned Gazel at MP1. Later that turn I Link summoned SSLW. I then special summon a Jaguar under its link arrow to activate SSLW eff. Can I add the previously summoned Gazel to my hand?

Ayulikestaiyaki you cant activate the spinny due to the discard not being a quick effect. basically spinny is always a spell speed 1 so it must always be a chain link 1 AND the only time you can activate either of its effects are during your own main phases. if the spinny was a spell speed 2 then you could use it to boost your att in the damage step, but sadly it is not.

Hey I had a quick ruling question that came up at my locals the other day. So I was playing true draco's and my opponent was playing the new salad boys he ended on sunlight wolf and the rank 3 monster and 1 set trap then passes I draw declare my phases and then I activated slumber and he chains gozen so things resolve back and I put a thunder king on my field then a gameciel on his (note I didn't run Dogoran but that's not common knowledge) he then said that "I can't do that, that if I do not have a Dogoran to summon to his field that I cannot activate/resolve my slumber". Is that true?

MST.TV mole effect: During your Main Phase, if you Link Summoned this turn: You can Special Summon this card from your hand to your zone a Link Monster points to. If you control no monsters: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 5 “Salamangreat” cards in your GY; shuffle them into the Deck, then draw 2 cards. You can only use each effect of "Salamangreat Mole" once per turn. Fole effect: if a "Salamangreat" monster(s), except "Salamangreat Fowl" is Normal or Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Salamangreat Fowl" once per turn. You can send 1 "Salamangreat" card from your hand or face-up field to the GY, then target 1 Set Spell/Trap your opponent controls; that Set card cannot be activated this turn. Backup secretary: If you control a Cyberse monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only Special Summon "Backup Secretary" once per turn this way.

so can ash negate special summon from the extra deck too? ash reads negate special summon from deck. a bit confused please chime in. How does it differ from jack jaguar if so?
@MSTTV5 жыл бұрын
It's a matter of satisfying the conjunction. Jack Jaguar is satisfying a conjunction of putting a monster back into the deck. Ash refers summons from the main deck. Why, precedent ruling. The deck by default often refers to the main deck. To satisfy a conjunction, shuffling a monster back into the deck may include putting a monster back to the extra deck because game mechanics would only allow that to do so.

Is a reincarnated sunlight wolf still a reincarnated sunlight wolf after returning to the field after a farfa banish?
@DemonicTutor6665 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. Conditions placed on a card tend to be "forgotten" after they have left the field, but I could be wrong on this one, since it still used sunlight wolf for it's link summon.
@williamstm925 жыл бұрын
I also dont think it is. Just as the above comment stated, if you Farfa a Crystal Wing summoned with Ice Bell, upon returning to the field it is no longer protected from destruction by card effect. Like a reset. So a reincarnated Sunlightwolf returning to the field after Farfa or Zeta banished it is no longer treated as a reincarnation link
@Jebediah25 жыл бұрын
Monsters that are temporarily banished will forget the exact method that they were summoned by (it will remember that it was special summoned, but not that it was link summoned). Because it doesn't remember that it was link summoned, it will not gain the effect to add a Salamangreat spell/trap from your graveyard to your hand.
