First I do a step by step deep clean and then I season the diffuser to help prevent rust.

This is perfect timing as I’m going to be slowing down on the smokes now that it’s getting colder (and more rain). I think I’m going to stop wrapping my diffuser with foil as well. Jake, I watched one of your earlier cleaning videos where you mention using P.B.W. on the stainless grates. You seem to shy away from cleaning the grates in this video, did you run into any issues from using the P.B.W. ?

Nope PBW is fine on stainless, just don’t use it on your grill grates if you have some. It will destroy aluminum. I tend to keep them well seasoned until they get filthy and then will do a deep clean as needed. They were in pretty good shape there. 🍻

Thx for the video - good info. What do you use to clean your grates, both the ones that came with the Yoder as well as the Grill Grates? Mine look pretty bad right now and was looking for the best way to get those looking good again.

Grill Grates has a brush that works great. You can use oven cleaner or PBW on the main grates, but DO NOT use it on the aluminum grill grates. I learned the hard way. 🍻

No prob. Yeah that’s PBW. Should be a link in description or check my Amazon store. You can soak them for 24 hours in water and it and they will look. We again. Just can’t use on aluminum.

I’m not sure what citrusafe you bought. Mine says it is specifically for cleaning grill grates and interior surfaces

I reviewed their website before making the video. I could not find anything that said it was safe to use interior. Grill grates I can see, but I’d wash them with soap and water afterwards. It’s possible I missed it though. Their mobile website isn’t the best. Thanks for watching. 🍻

Hi Use the Citrusafe Grill Cleaner to clean the outside of a yoder smoker. Unfortunately, this grill cleaner is not available from us. Is Traeger Grill Cleaner (TRAEGER ALL NATURAL GRILL CLEANER) a good alternative to Citrusafe Grill Cleaner?

Hi There, yep that will work well. You just want to use more of a mild cleaner, not the harsh grill cleaners. 🍻
