Wow!! I'm so emotional to see this. I live there during Pol Pot. I'm about 8-9 year old still remember till these days cuz I'm almost drowned in this dam. Yes, Pol Pot make us work from dawn to dusk 7 day a week barely any food to eat. We get to eat one time a day after long day of work. Shredded papaya mixed it with lot of water. So sad for my mom too. She is 82 year old still alive live in U.S since 1982.
I used to walk around this area and swimming this lake every single day after work around 6:00 o'clock more than a years during Pol Pot's regime when I was a young boy (6 years old ).......I know this area very clear and I remember all the past.......my tear drop and begging to cry when I start to see this area.

My father was also among the thousands that helped built this water irrigation dam. He survived the ordeals but unfortunately he passed away in 1981 in the Thai Refugee Concentration Camp. We lived at the same village with the old lady you interviewed at 15:00.
It’s not deep. It’s just a flat field. I went there when it was dried.
