I am studying Eastern philosophy. The teacher showed us this video during our class about Persian poetry, Rumi in particular. We were all deeply moved beyond words. He was a spiritual genius, and this video is a wonderful tribute to him. I am crying when I watch this video again - it reminds us about the depth of our true existence. Thanks again!

I am Persian. The English translation is no wherenear what Molana is trying to convey. The pivotal word in Persian is ' Maftoone' which someone has decided to translate to 'Enchanted '. Maftoone in the context of the poem means ' under trial' so this life , this universe according to Molana, is a trial for all who live in it and all that exist even including ' Zarreh' which has been translated as Atom . Just enjoy the music and the words if you are a Persian speaker.

It is not the world which is miserable or a cause of misery but people themselves. The world is like a mirror of humanity. Thus signs of greed, hatred, unease, oppression are & will always be prevalent. Until we reform ourselves! Happiness is not created by unity of any exterior element but inner piece, acceptance & love! An individual that cherishes & respects there own vessel & the soul it holds can not & will not harm others! To those who wish to embark upon a difficult path; you can not until you find yourself to be alone of all. That is where the challenge lies. Where the true struggles begin with the greatest reward! Rumi had nothing to do with Islam. Don't try and steal and Islamise anything and everything that came from Persia. Razi, who in the west is known as an ' Islamic ' scientist , whatever the hell that means , was one of the most vehement opponents of Islam and highly critical of Quran, he called it a book of superstition and no value, confused with no rhythm that had nothing to say. Rumi was no Islamic philosopher either.

@@Asjah-Moses may I suggest instead of yearning for someone elses experience of enlightened words. Instead do what Rumi would want for your essence to be drunk with the bliss of his essence. Close your eyes and turn inward, and do so often. Ask yourself "what am I?" May you ask it often until you are overcome with desire to uncover that which is your inner most self. What are you? Are you your hands? No, we call them my hands, they are mine, but not me. What of the soul? Are you your soul? We call it my soul. Its is yours, not you. That which is yours, can only belong to you, ot can never be you. The journey Rumi made was within. Not of this world but within his own essence. May you bless yourself with this gift, and no longer wish to understand. May you find yourself dripping with ecstasy and become enlightened. For when one man is enlightened the world becomes more enlightened. Shh! Eyes closed. May you finally see for the first time.🌹🙏🏽

The captions are pretty close in essence to what Rumi has written, however the translation for the word 'raghss' which normally means dance is out of place. The word ' rotation ' is closer to what he is saying. Persian is a contextual language and almost impossible to translate to any other language as words and phrases mean different things at different times. Khayam also has pointed to the helplessness of the universe to organize its chaos in one his Rubayats, he was a polymath and an astronomer as well as a poet and a philosopher.
@HanadiH6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! Persian words can't be translated into one simple English word that captures the complex essence of words and phrases. No translation will be as elegant in structure and meaning as the original.

@@ustwoalberts and you are of what culture sir? Rumi's ghost why Rumi? Why not the protection of God himself?! The worst plots against Iranians are from within out own culture. The heartless Islamic Regime of the Republic of Iran, whom robbed us of our culture and history absent of the filth and horor of Arab influences. Arabs have a long history of claiming authority over God and all things language, etc. Their language claim cannot be argued as they do indeed have the most letters and therefore are the universal authority of language, because you can translate anything into Arabic, but Arabic cannot be translated without being lost in meaning. But they are arrogant to claim their illiterate prophet came holding the Quran and called it the actual Final word of God. 😂 And just like that they can dismiss all previous and all future words of God. They lordeth over their women, cover them from head to toe, and even their eyes wont see the light outside of their husbands home. Their ugly distortion of an already tainted religion has made its way into the hearts of Iranian men who use the control it allows to destroy our culture and ancient history. Keep our women enslaved all in the name of Allah, not Khodah. They bring the shame and cowardice to our people only Arabs are capable of. So the plotting must stop at the hands of evil Iranians above any other enemies we have. But thank you for the prayer's.

Looped this as I slept. I had the most unusual dream . I feel intense heat as the wind is blowing violently in my face. I manage to open my eyes . I'm tied to post sitting on a massive concrete pillar. Im without clothes and a single tear is rolling down my cheek in slow motion. I manage to raise my head and I see something in the distance. Its another concrete pillar and a woman is tied on it as I am. I call out to her but the distance is so vast that she cannot hear my voice. I only make out a female's silhouette and her long hair swaying in the wind. I hear something approaching and I look skyward and something is descending from the clouds. I try to gaze upon it and a blast of warm air slams against my body. I try again to call out to the woman but the vast ocean separates us and my sounds aren't heard. That's my dream. I wake up as I hear a boom . I wake up and it a trash truck dropping a dumpster across the street.

I am the servant of the Qur'an as long as I have life. I am the dust on the path of Muhammad, the Chosen one. If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings, I am quit of him and outraged by these words. - Rumi

Beloved #Rumi is truly brilliant and inspiring. Deeply grateful for sharing this prayer. 🙏🏼 Say I Am You I am dust particles in sunlight. I am the round sun. To the bits of dust I say, Stay. To the sun, Keep moving. I am morning mist, and the breathing of evening. I am wind in the top of a grove, and surf on the cliff. Mast, rudder, helmsman, and keel, I am also the coral reef they founder on. I am a tree with a trained parrot in its branches. Silence, thought, and voice. The musical air coming through a flute, a spark of a stone, a flickering in metal. Both candle and the moth crazy around it. Rose, and the nightingale lost in the fragrance. I am all orders of being, the circling galaxy, the evolutionary intelligence, the lift, and the falling away. What is, and what isn't. You who know Jelaluddin, You the one in all, say who I am. Say I am You. ― Rumi 🌏
