Just for information. I know you love the Lisa Larsson ceramic. She passed away last week at 92 yrs of age. Her pieces will sky rock in price, so be on the look out for anything designed by her. In Japan they are especially into her ceramic and pay over the top for it. Lisa Larsson was active as a designer up to her death and recently started a collaboration with Skultuna in Sweden. Greeting from Sweden.

Oh my gosh, My Husband and I died laughing when you asked if you could use that metal piece for decorating a cake! My husband and I have been married for 24 years but on our first anniversary, My Husband decided to make a cake and surprise me with it for when I came home from work, and when I got home, he was literally using a caulking tool to decorate the top of the cake with. I nearly fell over laughing!!! Funny thing is it actually worked. It tasted pretty good too … until I bit down on this tiny little hard chunk and it was a piece of dried caulk🤣😂🤣 He swore he washed it before he used it but……..IDK 😂HAHA! You guys always remind us of our younger selves I am super positive and bubbly and happy and I am always telling everybody to choose joy and My Husband is one of those quieter one-liner hilarious guys. We are still each other‘s best friend and still crack each other up after all these years and it is so fun to watch you guys because it brings back memories of ourselves.😁

From what I understand, Robert Maxwell only worked with Pottery Craft for about four months before there was a falling out and they parted ways. That “style” is attributed to Maxwell, but not necessarily his work. BUT, you know could tell you for sure? George the Antique Nomad! He talked about this story in one of his recent videos 😊

Hi Laura, I love to thrift and I love watching you thrift! I live in central PA, and when I was growing up, my mom’s friend who lived across the hill from us owned a concrete lawn ornament shop. She purchased the concrete molded pieces from a supplier somewhere and then painted and sold them. I worked for her from age 12 til 19 (1986-1993ish) painting the lawn ornaments. I literally walked over that hill between us each summer weekday to paint, and my memories of that time are priceless. I painted so many deer as well as many other animals, fishing boys, gnomes, etc. Now when I see the concrete lawn deer out in the “wild,” I always wonder whether or not I painted them. Hope you enjoy yours…your vision for your wooded area sounds amazing! 😊

Swede here, close relative to Norwegians. So the "crepe iron" is actually a wafer iron. You use them to make wafer cookies or ice cream cones. I'm not sure if a crepe batter would be too watery to be contained inside it, so I would be careful when trying it!
@suecrane3987
@suecrane3987 Ай бұрын
You might find that thick straight sewing needles hammered into the wall would work better than nails, especially for your baskets. They are strong and don't leave as large a hole. . Love your videos, and the added info of online comps is informative, too. Thanks much!

You scored a Krumkake iron! - pronounced ( croom caca) by my Norwegian Grandmother-it makes a beautiful delicate pastry that you use a wooden shaper that you wrap the thin pastry around to create a cone shape…then just before serving you fill it with sweetened whip cream. Very special Norwegian dessert! She made them for family events. Actually pretty labor intensive! I came to realize that when I started making them. I had the opportunity to serve them to her in her later years and have her beautiful iron of the same brand you found 😉 along with a couple others I’ve picked up an over the years. They do sell well!!

I had the same thought! I, too, have a Letterman (my husband got for free at a rummage sale. It's in perfect mint condition). Once, we saw a Letterman painting on Mad Men that looked just like ours. Not certain whether Letterman paintings were department store art (like Reynolds or Shelley paintings) or by an actual artist named Letterman. I'd love to know more about them.

I just returned from Ireland and Scotland and took a purse making class in Edinburgh that was soooo fun and made with Harris tweeds and leather (named Islanders). I was only able to visit 5 thrift stores and one fabric store. The thrift stores had very few linens which was my interest. The man at the fabric store was very nice when I asked to take pictures and told me that his type of store was becoming less available. He had EVERYTHING so it was fun to look around.

You should go for it and use like a bright orange matting. The orange will complement the red the artist used and make the use of white pop. With a classic black frame. Or you push it into another direction and go all white, white matting, white frame. The red will come through more, but will draw the eye in more.

The teapot 2nd. I found a beautiful vintage bowl from Vietnam with dragonflies on it. Beautiful. I don't like the red portrait but with rematting and a new frame I might change my mind. I was picturing a bright green matting or bright yellow one, or blue, to offset the red. I believe the glass item you were asking if anyone knows anything about it. It may be Marine Glass. I have a collection from my grandmother

The hangers! My grandma made those but wih nylon strips. They are so cheesy, but so colorful--and good for your clothes not touching wire hangers. We have a closetful. Lol

That red piece of art does resemble Max headroom of the 1980s. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

I love the sunglasses art! I may be alone on this but I love the 80s look! I’ve been loving that style of pink lately. But also matte black and a gold or silver frame would be epic

I love the video and I love getting to learn more from you! My husband and I think the man with the sunglasses painting would be enhanced by a black mat and black frame, but keeping the red mat with the white trim. We can’t wait to see what you end up doing with it.
