Also when tito was inducted into the hall of fame , William joppy said he didn't deserve to be there. Also tito ended up becoming broke. Does that answer your question of why he isn't mentioned. And 9/11....Unknown to many boxing fans, Trinidad couldn’t train after NYC was shutdown due to attack. The Trinidads couldn’t fly to PR, or anywhere, as they stayed around Ground Zero and did the humanitarian thing. Trinidad was often seen by NYPD & PAPD handing out food and water to 1st responders. Decades later, people are still dying from breathing in all the cancerous fumes that eminated from the rubble. It was a bad decision to take the fight in the weeks following 9/11. Also of note, Don King was rushing the Sept. date, because MSG was booked throughout the year due to Knicks, Ranger games and concerts at MSG. Barclays wasn’t built at that time. There’s a reason Tito waned physically down the stretch. Many believe it was due to his work at Ground Zero. A noble gesture however you cheered for these two combatants.

tito trinindad and lennox lewis were my favorite fighters of my teenage years and of all time. tito didn't have much respect after he retired from casual fans. real fans loved him and respected him. its good to see rummy's subscribers understand boxing and respect tito for what he did. he was so entertaining to watch. he was considered brittle and easy to move around and knockdown. then just get stronger and stronger as the fight went on. his accuracy, technique and punching power dismantled opponents. he ended a lot of careers. head and body attack with accuracy and perfect punch placement. like a Mexican fighter. tito was a brutal and fearless fighter. he struggled with high IQ fighters who move like Oscar, Hopkins, and winky. he's one of those fighters where its "you just had to be there" to understand his greatness. reminds me of nigel benn. underrated but you had to be there to understand what a gladiator these two were. anyways so glad the boxing world respects him.

Wasn’t a fan during his fighting years but became a fan after he retired.

He lost his first professional fight at the age of 28 and retired. Apparently he couldn't get a rematch with Hopkins or De La Hoya and there was nothing left to prove. Good for him. I hope that decision allowed him to enjoy his life after boxing.

I remember when this young man came to our attention This young man I remember he fought at the Olympics He was so amazing, to see he's hand speed ,and to see he's people in big support for him ,is true to his record Remember he was only defeated once And was around for a while in all three division Thanks for the walk down memory lane I use to get so excited when he was in the ring ,so classy and no b.s. very under rated All the way from Australia thanks once again R.C

I loved his fighting style. I found the fact that most of his victories came after he got up from the mat amazing. Tito is an inspiration. I was at the joppy fight in MSG. Awesome event.

When Trinidad won, the whole nation won. Governor would declare next day a holiday because pretty much everyone was still out partying. Titos fights where national events. So many great memories of this times. ❤🎉 💯.

Tito vs. Hearns at 147 would've been ridiculous.
@mdmcdd11174 жыл бұрын
You're right. I got Trinidad because of Hearns suspect chin at 147, but at 154, I got Hearns.
@r.a.84074 жыл бұрын
Herns might have gotten ko'd iran Barkley destroyed herns with left hooks & trinidad was a master at landing them
@eggy418ful4 жыл бұрын
I think Tito would knock Hearns out in the latter rounds

Would have been great but hit man had more snap to his punches. They look like exactly how they feel ....painful. I’m a fan of both but hit man was hurting people in his prime.
@lennoxmate40644 жыл бұрын
Christopher David D. Hearns wasn’t vulnerable at Welterweight. He was stopped on his feet v Leonard. He only started getting vulnerable after the Hagler fight. If Hearns got hurt he could also switch and outbox his opponent.
