What do you think about Eddie and Hannah's children having different surnames?

It's not my thing but, it seems to work for them.

Doesn’t matter what anyone thinks. As long as it works for them ❤

If Hannah is an only child or has just sisters, she may have wanted to have her son have her surname to carry on her father's name since typically when women get married they take on their spouse's name and their children as well. I know of someone who did that for her son because she came from a family of all girls. It's just a guess. Regardless, people can use any name they wish and will have a reason behind it but it's not something they need to share. It seems they are very happy and I hope they have a long life together.

Often times the best and healthy couple in Hollywood are the ones who kept their relationship private and doesn't always show off things in their social media especially in avoiding any dramas. Which is probably the main reason why Eddie and Hannah's relationship has been doing fantastic so far and I respect that. They're so honest that they do their best to avoid any nonsense Hollywood cliched scandal 👍

Some couples prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight and we totally respect it. We think it makes things a lot easier on their marriage when they don't have to deal with the public's constant opinion over what they're doing with their lives. We're so happy that Eddie and Hannah found each other and have such a strong marriage.

I love the fact of how humble and kind they both are and they don’t let fame go to their head Eddie sounds like a wonderful husband and father I don’t know much about Hannah because she’s very private as mentioned but I bet if they were our neighbors they would be great friends! I love their personalities and that they are just genuinely kind and caring regardless of celeb status

Les Mis was 2012... not sure how 22 years is your answer. 2022-2012=10 years, not 22. That was after the last rehearsal for Les Mis, so maybe a year or two prior to the film coming out in 2012, call it 2010. Then they dated 2 years, before getting engaged. So, best case scenario, 10 years tops!

They haven't been married for 22 yrs, they've "been in each other's lives for 22 yrs" at the time when this vid was made. The narrator said they'd been close friends for 12 yrs since 2000, then began dating in 2012 when he was doing Les Mis. 2yrs later he proposed (2014). As of 2022 (when this vid was uploaded) they'd been married for 8yrs... But they've been close for 22.

Interesting. In Germany it’s mandatory for full siblings to have the same surname. So an approach like theirs wouldn’t be possible.
@zah936 Жыл бұрын
In that case they can take a totally new surname or use double names like me when their parents want to be non patriarchal
@zah936 Жыл бұрын
Alo grown people can change their names to anything. These days they allow change of sex on papers even without surgery. So forcing artificially to take the father's name with theexcsue that siblings have to have the same last name is wrong. Plus these people are gonna get married and the girl might change her name. So after the children are adult they can change their name to whatever . So if a person wants to be non patriarchal when it comes to this practice they still can do it in Germany

Think the children having different surnames is bizarre! It also means if Iris gets married when she grows up.......that is the end of the line for the Redmayne name. (Unless she doesn't take hubbys name I guess!)! The boy will continue the Bagshawe name whatever happens! If they wanted to continue both names, they could have double barrelled - Bagshawe - Redmayne. Up to them in the end though I suppose!

So in summary: She didn't want him when he was broke, then he got rich and famous a few years later and she suddenly got interested at age 30 (biological clock ticking). Also she won't take his last name. He was her fall back option of last resort after 15 years of smashing other dudes. It was merely a lucky coincidence that he got rich.

@@lfgarza Believe me, I wish I was wrong. This is female nature. The pattern repeats itself over and over. A young lady wants to party and have a bunch of 'wrong' boyfriends when she's young (15 to 29). She keeps a couple of dorky dudes on the backburner during those years, because she knows they will be good financial providers and won't ever tell her no. Plus she knows that their chances of getting other women are slim to none, so they're hers for the taking when she decides. Once she hits 30 and realises that her chance of having kids is rapidly diminishing, she pulls the dorky friend out of the bag and tells him he's special and she wants him (despite having one night stands/orgies/bad boy boyfriends for the last 15 years). If he's brainwashed enough to believe that eventually the good guy gets the girl, then he'll eagerly take up her offer of marriage and live out his days content with the knowledge that he 'won' in the end. If the young lady truly regarded him as a good option, she'd have married him young (under 22 or so) and kept her promiscuous activities to a minimum. But sadly ladies have been conditioned to believe they can have the best of both worlds (sleep around and find a husband afterwards). Some do, but most don't. If they do find a guy willing to marry them after years of promiscuity, he will always be a dorky loser type. He won't excite her or arouse her. He might bring home good money, but she doesn't respect him because he's too dull compared to the exciting bad boys she dated. And he has minimal experience with women (a natural consequence of being a loser) so he has no idea how to manage her emotions and keep the relationship on a good path. She usually isn't consciously aware of this dynamic either, and so it manifests itself as a niggling thought in her mind. She can't quite out her finger on it, but there's something not quite right about this guy. He's not manly enough. The bad boys at least used to tell her to sit down and shush when she was having emotional outbursts. It made her angry, which led to excitement, which lead to unbelievable sex. This is the unfortunate reality that women have carved out for themselves in the modern world. Men are to blame, at least initially. If men had put their foot down right from the beginning and said that no nonsense would be tolerated, then we in 2022 wouldn't find ourselves with the lowest marriage and birth rates of all time, and the highest divorce rates.
