Everyone needs to quit romanticizing this relationship. He was 25 and she was 17 (underage) when they got together, so he groomed her. As far as I'm concerned, she did the right thing in dumping him; he's proven to be a failure at relationships and marriages, and he's had addiction issues since he was young. Winona was born in 29th October 1971. They met in the premiere of "Great Balls of Fire" which was at the end of June 1989. They started dating several months later. But as you stated, we're not aware of how he actually shows up and acts in relationships and he's had addiction issues for decades, not easy to live with.
