All credit to Snow Patrol and it was a good song for them that Lucy liked from a young age, and this is Lucy’s second release of ‘Run’. However Lucy took it and completely changed it making this now her own. So it’s very different to the original, however far, far better. Lucy’s video here and her performance is unbelievably good, and incredible aged 15. I’ve watched this over 1000 times and every time I’m glued to it until the very end, and always amazed. 😳 Probably Lucy’s best song.

Mike and Ginger.... thank you for your reaction to 'Run' by Lucy Thomas. It was recorded when she was just 15. Even then she had an amazing voice. Lucy also recorded this song at age 10 in her first music video. You could tell she was singing beyond her young age. Today, she is 18 and her voice has matured even more. It is perfect pitch, powerful, and with purpose. Her performance and delivery is second to none.

Between ages 9 and 10 Lucy is really experimenting with what she is learning with her Vocal Coach. Both videos show a young girl with talent way beyond her tender years. After those 2 videos, Lucy goes silent from the public. She continues to master vocal techniques and physical delivery methods. Age 14 she participates in Voice Kids - UK. She signs with record label and goes full throttle. The rest is history. In 'Run' by halfway mark, she is singing with perfect pitch, perfect volume, using perfect breathing, and perfect vibrato. It's hard to separate her voice from her delivery, both work together well. Use of symbolism in 'Run' also near perfect. She is 'running' on the beach, she is writing 'Run' on the sand. Some of this footage used in 'Footprints In The Sand' song years later.

If you think Lucy is adorable, you should listen to her singing Clown. She was 14 when she did it., and even then you could hear the power of her voice. I grew up with Sabbath, Zeppelin and Quo, but I can't get enough of this young ladies voice. Like so many others, I get goosebumps just listening fo her. I just hope she doesnt implode from the pressures of stardom.

May be you missed the end of my comment. Lucy is working , for years ( covid was a big problem for such project), with Chris Broom at a musical "Rosie" she published some of the songs of the musical. "Starlight" song is the more successful but all the songs of the musical are very impressive, to say the least..🤗🤗👍 I think the key to worldwide success for Lucy...is this musical. She can become, overnight, a worldwide star...👍🤗🤩

It would be a shame if you don’t listen to the original Snow Patrol version. They are such a great Northern Irish /Scottish Indy band led by lead singer and primary writer Gary Lightbody and a number of singers have made their names covering versions of their songs with this one in particular including Lucy Thomas and Leona Lewis. Any chance you could ‘Play it again’ with the original artist and introduce yourselves to Snow Patrol. They have a truckload of hits of which perhaps the biggest is ‘Chasing cars’, but don’t miss out on watching them play this song ‘Run’ in front of an arena or festival audience. Watch their performance at the Oxegen Festival from 2009 ( its on YT) to see what a festival anthem the song is

Snow Patrol were a commercial Pop-Rock type band so that's hardly surprising, there's nothing wrong with being commercial if integrity is maintained and the quality of the material/songs is good.

That's strange noise may be the software that you're using. I'm a teacher and I make training videos for other teachers because it seems most people do not know how to use technology. My videos ended up having a similar sound. I changed software in the sound disappeared. The school had given me Adobe software, but I had nothing but problems with that. After that, I switched over to audacity and it worked fine. However, for me, I'm just doing this to help out other teachers so I'm really not that concerned about the quality. You should check out some of her other songs, especially those with their little sister. The two girls have amazing voices. My personal favorite is Lucy's "Hallelujah".

@@MikeandGinger Oh, no! 🤪 I should have known what that sound was. You wouldn't believe how loud they are here in Taiwan. Years ago, I used to work in this one school on the second floor. There are a bunch of trees next to the school filled with cicadas. Try teaching a class when those cicadas go off. It got to a point where I wanted to set the trees on fire. It could be worse though. One of my fellow Canadians used to work right next to a rice field. There were always clouds of "she-ow hay wan". (It's the Chinese name of a tiny black mosquito that leave big welts on your skin.)
