Run Out, Around, and Back From Halibut, Newport OR 6-22-24

Great conditions for a long day of fishing. We were out amongst a crowd (30+ boats in eyesight) on the SW corner of Stonewall Bank looking for Halibut again. Caught and released a little one, and kept a Petrale Sole just to check out quality of meat--very good, will be keeping more of these and looking to target this fishery more in the future. We have a limit of 25 sole per day per person, which works out to quite a bit of fish. 20 mile run each way. Fuel economy on a smooth ocean with little wind was great, 2.8 miles per gallon out of twin Honda 150s running Sharrow stainless steel props @ 24 mph average speed.
