So so cool to see this. I went to Doha in 2007 when I was stationed in Iraq. They gave us a four day pass to see the city and it was amazing.

Fantastic that you got 4 days there. That was longer than I had, so you must have seen a good bit of stuff.

Really good vlog kerry it's nice to see different cites and cultures. The malls looked amazing so do the building at night . I've been to Dubai numerous times I love the place .

I love it, too. Dubai is pretty cool as well - takes it to another level with size and scope.

Great idea. Really interesting to see different cities but I've got to say it looked pretty horrible. Each to their own I suppose. For me the best thing as a runner is that wherever you visit you have the advantage of being able to get out there and in no time see so much beyond the normal tourist traps.

I love seeing different places and how they work. Felt safe there and was able to cover a lot of ground in short order. Definitely would consider another trip in the future.

wow, the amount of times I've stopped off here and never thought to go outside of the airport. I thought it would be waaaay more money than that for a hotel.. Next time I'll know better. Thanks for the heads up!

You would have really enjoyed a run in the sand dunes south of Qatar - Sealine towards the place called Inland Sea. Also Zekreet which is a desert of a different kind (Not dunes) is also nice (West of Qatar) for a 30+ KM run....

That sounds like it would have been a fantastic time, Wazir. Perhaps if I come to Qatar again....

It's Barkley Marathons weekend. What are your thoughts on that? Would it interest you?
@FullTiltWard3 жыл бұрын
It is such an iconic event, David. I don't think it would be appealing because of the terrain or loop course. But the legend, history and eccentric nature of it is undeniable. I would go and compete given the chance for sure. However, knowing the caliber of runner that the course spits out and grinds up with ease, I would not presume to think I have the ability to finish it. With a good day, I might be able to get a second loop done - with a couple more experienced people to hand-hold and show me the ropes. With a phenomenal day and favorable conditions, I could perhaps sketch out a Fun Run. I've been following it closely, too. Looks like the course will win again - questionable if there will be anyone finishing the 3rd loop under cutoff time.

@@FullTiltWard I think it would be very difficult on the first go-round but could certainly see you getting the Fun Run in. Courtney timed out after two loops.. but I think she'd get the Fun Run next time with the benefit of this experience. Would love to see a lady finisher! Keep up the great work, Kerry!

Did you see any female runners? And what type of clothing can they wear during a run?
@FullTiltWard3 жыл бұрын
I don't recall specifically. Not too many people running really. Could have been females out there - I would imagine modest athletic gear would be fine, though.
