This movie was a major influencer in my deciding to join the Navy back in April of 69. The technical authenticity was excellent. For example showing the right arm rates of the time. Such as BM, QM, GM.

This movie has a near perfect script. For 1966 it had to be written by someone who was very well read on Eastern vs Western diplomatic relations and probably a political scholar.
