Think I've bigged these shows up to you in the past.. they really impressed me. Originally had their Kalenji XT7, absolutley blinding grip, but a very narrow firm shoe.. so started to feel the miles.. so moved to the Evadict MT2 4mm, whilst the shoe was a lot more comfortable for distance, the tread design was a downgrade.. was not good in sloppy mud, they also had a big concave name badge under the mid foot, that really effected the grip.. but they were still great for 90% of my local conditions and even survived many mountain miles.. They've lasted hundreds of miles and only just started to rip a little and are getting bald, but seriously, I've given them a serious pounding. I bought a newer version, 8mm drop, to run the UTS50, they got rid of the silly concave bit, there's still a blank bit, but much smaller, and grips a lot better in the mid foot, I can see they have a similar bit on your version and back to a 4mm drop. I just hope that new tread design hasn't ruined them.. and they look a lot more bulbus. Shame, as I was going to buy another pair after I do some training, and probably need a fresh pair for UTS50 again.. I have to agree though regarding the narrow design. I've found them fariely OK.. my old ones were quite firm to my little toe, but I managed.. and I sized up a little in the last pair, so are better but can feel if you have a large foot you'd be limited.. I wish they did a more Altra wide design for the toe box. If they've messed with these and ruined them.. I may have to burgain bin some Altras but I've hear the build quality is hit n miss.

Looking forward how this shoe performs in the wet. Im from Malaysia, a tropical country. Mud trail and knee deep river crossing is a norm. Need a non waterproof and solid grip trail shoe.

It looks like a great shoe, but the narrow toe box is a deal killer for me. I have very narrow feet, but when I learned what wide toe boxes were for and how they worked, I can't go back to narrowness in my trail runners. Thanx for the great video my Running Brother!!!

Decathlon is nice to start running with and then go up once you get into it. for trail shoes make sure your toebox is wide or go a size up. did 19Km in my Merrill's this afternoon and my toes are feeling the punishment. same size in Nike's for the road and no problem doing 21Km. Your feet move more in the shoe on a trail. And that is on the flat bits here in the Netherlands.

I'm currently using Norda 001 and MT Cushion 2, I'm feeling more confident with the Evadict on our South Alps technical terrain howerver the midsole feel less cushioned and responsive

Tight calves isn't always caused by heel off set 🤔 I'd recommend going to see a good sports physio to get to the actual cause of the issue 👍

Very cool design and the price is fine. I wouldn't say its a cheap shoe. Other brands are just too expensive. What a shame that the shoe is so narrow.

Just my 2 cents! Tested a pair of these at the store and was not really impressed: -felt and looked a little bit cheap, especially the base color scheme. The white ones cost more (20€ if I remember) -grabby lace eyelets -lace garage too high and really not easy to use -Foot locking not great : although the laces were thight, I had some back & forth movement in the shoe. Was a 43 (= my normal size) and felt as it was the right size for me. 42 was way too small and the half sizes are not displayed in any store. My Salomon (42 2/3) and Scarpa (43) shoes do way better in this aspect. -Felt Ok for the short run I did in the store, but based on the facts above, I didn't buy a pair.

update : got a pair, did 350k in them. Here my + and - : + super grip from the outsole on any type of terrain. Outstanding! + very stable and confidence inspiring shoe + stiff enough, but also flexible enough, good balance between both + in size 42 1/2 the foot lock was great + very good foot protection + laces and garage are OK to use after all, nothing against it + fair energy return on rolling terrain, shoes feel quite fast, didn't expect that. +/- materials feel cheap, not easy to clean shoe especially the bright parts. But for the pice, at least, upper holds up well. Thx Matrix!! - narrow toe box, pinches a little too mush. Going half a size up results in poor locking, I did the test - lugs wear quite fast. Was to be expected, the are soo soft in feel (and give amasing grip) - midsole wore out at the heel (I tend to heel strike on rolling and fast downhill sections) - may be a little under cushioned for some All in all, 8/10, and given the price, a very good choice of shoe for beginners and those having a lot of soft ground to run on (less wear of lugs and midsole on soft ground...)

Used for a full summer season in Europe. Toe box narrow and no half sizes. Last needs to be changed to something like Asics. Some movement on on technical trails. Will not buy again, Reviewers need to run at least a few hundred kms before doing a review.

As with most trail shoes (or any running shoes) too narrow for me 😐 The only shoe I found that fits well is Topo but they are only good for short distances, up to about 50km, for longer runs the only shoe I like (recently did 360km with no blisters even though they are still a bit tight in the toe box) is Hoka Speedgoat 5 wide fit sized up from my normal UK 10 to 10.5

Well. I have a problem with reviews like this... I need a new pair of running shoes. These in size 12 are now £99. Or I can get Saucony Peregrine 13 in size 12 for around £60. I run a few strange races and need grip in the mud, bouncy on hard road and preferably lightweight. Max race distance is 25km but is run in stages of 2-5km, and other races are triathlon 6-10km (all feww running with muddy bogs but always have a 2km road section to finish!).

If the Evadict are the expensive option, 50%+ more expensive than the Saucony, then are they now a bad option or are the Saucony just such good value I should get them? @@onlineo2263 Obviously the Saucony shoes have been discounted because they’re older models now the Peregrine 14 is available. For a brand new trail running shoe with some great features, £99 is good value. This was a review on this particular trail shoe so I wanted to spend the time telling viewers all about. You are limited on time when you film a review video so there’s only so much information you can fit in and I can’t compare them to every other trail shoe that’s available. I’ve actually got a few videos on the channel where we look at great value trail shoes and I’ve featured the Saucony Peregrine in these videos a few times. We work really hard on our shoe reviews to try and bring viewers helpful and informative content that you can watch for free, sorry it isn’t to your liking but thanks for watching 👍
