I'm quite confident, that the Em chord at the beginning is actually a G/B. If you listen to the Bass, you will notice how the Bass changes from note c (as the root note of the C chord) half a step down to note b. The b-note is actually also contained in the Em chord (e g b), but the e-note itself is not sounding good.
