Takes me back, can't get enough of this track. At almost 48 this track is still the best. It takes me back to my hometown Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. Listening to this track put you in a New York State of Mind when hip-hop was hip-hop within all five boroughs it was as real as real can get. A tribe called quest, digable planets, naughty by nature, de la soul, the pharcyde, das efx, outkast, fugees, Us3, hieroglyphics, etc, there was far more than just hardcore/gangsta rap. There was probably more smart & non-violent hip-hop than there is now, it's just that there was also more gangsta rap as well - there was a huge amount of variety and quality, unlike now.
