I love this game so much but I honestly think that they should’ve given the baby features based on the father too. For example: Leon and dylas both have ears and tails so the baby should have them too. The kids only have the moms features and I think they should have the dads too. It would be so adorable seeing the ears and tail on the child •^•

Considering what we know about the human body and the game's odd time-scale, we can assume the time between asking about children and the "shocking" reveal could be considered the first trimester, or maybe even a little into the second. The in-game time between asking about children, becoming pregnant, and having the child, is about equal so it wouldn't too far to say that. I state this because it means your spouse, after at least one night of rowdy bed fun, realized that this could lead to kids. Leon decided to call that night of rowdy bed fun, a "bad night" (Yeah I get that it's also supposed to be the opposite, but still.)
