I finally got my copy a few weeks back. Now I need to actually read it. I've been ride or die with Basic Role-Playing & Chaosium since I got started gaming back in the 80s, but I've never tried RuneQuest.

Chaosium have raised the bar to near Free League levels with this starter set. Brilliant. However, RuneQuest is, and always has been, about combat. You only need to look at the detail lavished on the combat rules then the pages of weapons and armour to realise this--and it's the fact that combat is so dangerous that makes it so exciting and therefore, so prevalent. That's not a bad thing.
