I had this happen to me, only to have that account be unbanned 7 years later. My childhood account that's 20 years old now got banned at the release of OSRS. It got unbanned in 2022 and the macroing major ban is nowhere to be found anymore. To be clear, I didn't bot, I got made fun off on the forums and reddit and just quit playing for 2 years until I decided to make a new account.

What's most frustrating about these situations is that there really is no customer support. It seems to be completely automated as far as I can tell and if it happens to you there's no recourse.

Yeah thankfully it was literally a day into the account, there's plenty of examples of this happening to players with a lot of time played.

Yeah, Jagex is just stealing as much money as they can. They know you'll just make another account and pay them more. I wouldn't be surprised if they detect 'botting' by how often and for how long your game sessions last. They're just bleeding the most devout players for cash.

@@Vesdus Facts. Honestly, recently been losing my interest in the game pretty harshly. I hadn't played for nearly a decade, and finally committed about a 7-month straight grind this year. Nearly got 80 base stats, and combats up in the 90s, with some bossing done. Have to ask: how do you guys keep the motivation? Knowing most of the player base are bots and/or gold sellers, and knowing even your ironman accounts could get falsely permabanned by an automated support and bot-detection team? Is this the type of moment where you realize the numbers-going-up dopamine isn't enough to keep you going and you just go back to other games and hobbies? 🤷

@@FrankGlymes I'd say the biggest challenges would be getting 70+ attack / 65 defence for the abysmal drop rates on items like bandos or whips. Mage and Range wouldn't be too bad I don't think?

Love this idea for a series. There is always so much skipped over especially in early game. It might be worth looking at the level up tables on the osrs wiki. They have everything you can do for each level of a skill. It could be handy for something like cooking or construction that has a lot of categories and items. It might even function as a checklist if sorts or a good place for a visual representation of what needs to be done each level. Cheers, definitely looking forward to more!

The weapon icon in attack is a dagger so you should be using a dagger instead of a sword And since the defence icon is a med helm its med helms for life

The more I think about it the more I'm curious about some skills, smithing will need bars when you shouldn't be training with bars, herblore will need clean herbs likewise, cooking might need more fish than you can get from training fishing, multiple skills rely on woodcutting... Really interested in how this evolves Good luck with the appeal, this is ridiculous, I guess it's gotta do with bots doing their things on bare minimum stats and you by definition will be doing everything on minimum stats, I hope it can get sorted out and that this won't be a recurring theme

I'm so glad it's got you thinking! I had a look at skills on the way to 30 and smithing in particular is going to be very annoying since I will have to obtain bars by other means like spawns/shops. As for clean herbs, it's likely something of an exception as clean herbs are difficult to obtain. We'll see how it goes and how it evolves!

few problems that'll arise with this account later on if exceptions aren't made somewhere along the line, you seem to be able to use any equipment for melee with the exception of only using items that show up in the strength skillguide to train strength, but you're limited to only the highest level spell you can cast, which is just going to completely lock you out of magic once you hit level 96 as the only 2 spells you can use then are the ghorrock teleport and swap spellbook. with mining from 85-90 you'll be stuck only mining runite, which is 16,702 runite ore, which is over 150 hours of just mining runite, which is going to severely slow down everything and end up being almost useless since you can't even mine more than 181 coal to go with it and slayer, since that entirely depends on the task you get, but you can't get the same task back to back, ever, you're going to be locked out of slayer pretty quick, since for example you can't kill your assigned task of basilisks at level 45 just think some exceptions will absolutely have to be made for this account to even work also the random, extremely loud "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"s shatters your ears if you're using headphones so maybe don't do that in the future

You're right - about everything even the hmmmm which I have stopped haha I'll cross later skilling bridges when it comes to it , it'll be a long time before I have 80/90's in a skill and I'll focus on enjoying the journey there first! Slayer will have to be a bit different you're right as I can't control my tasks, I'll make sure I kill the monsters I unlock but I won't be able to skip endlessly without levelling to only get the slayer creatures I have at that level.

😂 'the way jagex intended' is kinda paradoxical, most of the game is bugs that jagex decided was intended gameplay. I love osrs cause the players dictate the best methods and what the game really is. A big thank you to my fellow nostalgic nerds who keep runescape alive for us all to get that 99 or abysil whip we never got as kids. Lovely series idea! I don't play the game myself anymore, but if I were playing, I'd be doing something similar to this. It's unreal how much content is completely forgotten. I look forward to the next episode. I hope you get your account back (may sometimes need multiple attempts, seems like the first redeem is handled by AI or something). On topic of your progress, I think you should try out every ranged weapon available if this is doable (again I don't play myself so idk what is in the skill log, but I think you should atleast use knives, throwing axes, darts and javelins and get at least one non-zero hit with each) and use leather if this is in the logs. It's interesting to see how low level requirements get stuck behind end game content (like COX) or RNG (like the black pickaxe).

I hope we get to see another version of this. I had a couple of questions though, firstly about armour. Are you always going to be wearing the highest level armour you can, and forced to use that while using that style? For example if you get 20 defence can you no longer wear black armour while in combat? And will you be forced to use the best version, like platebobdy instead of chain, full helm instead of med? Second I was wondering what will you do if a new unlock is only available through the skill you're doing. Do you continue training that skill anyways until you unlock it or what is your plan?

Second episode is on the way! And yeah if I hit say 20 defence I have to wear Mithril armour, not black. I don't have to wear the entire set or anything, just at least one piece of that armour doesn't matter which piece. Your second one is a good question, in the next episode this kind of comes up where I can't build a Birdhouse at 5 crafting as a Clockwork needed to make one requires 8 crafting - so I simply can't do that activity and move on, but have to complete the other unlock at 5 crafting to progress - a gold ring.

You're basically capped at 93 cons. Marble is needed for the one unlock you get at 93. I take it you're not gonna go 93-94 cons using marble. You have a similar issue with herb, farming, hunter, cooking, and tons of skills. You should address these issues before you reach them. Cool idea though, I'm interested to see it played out.

As we get deeper in, I'll probably do some theorycrafting discussions outside of the videos or deep into them - but yeah, it isn't a perfect idea as some roadblocks will actually be so difficult/impossible to get over. Should be a fun journey anyway haha

I didn't even think about that! I haven't done any tinkering with Runelite plugins but I'd be keen to learn so it shows something on screen. Like if I'm levelling Fishing it has a checklist of the fish available at that level - you're a genius!
