What an amazing adventurous type of route, very different than most of the other ultras at this distance that I’ve watched. It was amazing to see all of the different types of scenery around Puget sound. I also noticed in this edit you showed more of the mental and physical side of it, awesome to see more of what you are going through between checkpoints. And one more thing, what a cool woman you have bro. She definitely has your back!

Came here after the post on Reddit about Copper Kings 100. As someone from Anacortes and now living in Minnesota, it was awesome seeing you guys run along some places that mean a lot to me, I miss it! A lot of these spots I hike with my parents when I’m back home. So sick!

I grew up in western Washington, it was fun to see you run through so many familiar spots. You did great! I'm from the Olympia area. I use to do fire, but I also did rafting on the Skagit and Wenatchee. Such a beautiful state❤

Loved watching this loop! I'm amazed how you continue to conquer these unique places. And keep tackling the 200 distance. Kudos! I had to chuckle at your funnel for the powder. I started to use a collapsible one in races. My friends thought I was nuts, but the aid volunteers loved it

Stiffness more than pain in those waddles. It is tough to get moving again after a rest, even a brief rest. 🙌🏼

I'm going to update the "Runners Guide" that Dave and I used with learning from the run, it will be on the Puget Sound 200 web site. A very important thing to know is, it is dangerous and often the roads have little to no shoulder. Be very visible and very vigilant. It is a fun journey though!
@JasonGarcia24

Really enjoy watching all of your videos. Your positive attitude and the adventures you go on have motivated my wife and I to start training for some ultras. We just knocked out our first half marathon ever and are planning on taking on the Big Foot 40 as our first ever ultra. Keep up the awesome work you are doing!!

I’ve been asked that, I just don’t know what to show. My training isn’t very interesting. Other athletes are good with strength training and mobility exercises. I’m not. You can see on my Strava that I just run, and nothing very crazy either.

Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to make the video. Not sure if you have tried, but ever thought about using 2 pairs of socks when doing a lot of road miles? Seems to help me.... then again, 200 miles...geesh! Gratz and keep em coming!
@wplate
@wplate Жыл бұрын
I have worn two pairs for hiking before, not running. There’s probably enough room in the wide Hokas. Thankfully I didn’t have any blisters after this run.

I bet the road pounding and relatively flat elevation must have felt harder than a trail ultra?
@wplate
@wplate Жыл бұрын
Kinda, we weren’t pushing too hard though which helped. While I was constantly complaining about my legs hurting, the recover afterwards was fast! Faster than any trail ultra.

How did those random people know you were passing by?
@wplate
@wplate Жыл бұрын
This is a cool story. The first one you saw follows me on Facebook where I had posted about our planned run. She's also a runner, and a while back ran her own 50 mile adventure running around Camano Island and he had rallied community support for her run through a community Facebook group. She posted to that group about our run and encouraged residents to encourage us if they saw us. We had several people stop to cheer us on, one couple had been waiting on their deck overlooking the road for us to pass by, others cheered and waved as they drove by. We had satellite trackers and a public tracking page so those who were interested could follow our progress close to real-time. The warm reception of those on Camano Island really boosted our spirits. We wished we'd captured video of all those we talked to.
