Backwards running is so fun. Was a big part of my rehab plan after a knee injury. Eventually I ended up running 2 5k races backwards with a 30 min PR. 25 min backwards with no training is super fast for these guys!
@YSoAggressive2 жыл бұрын
Wouldn’t say no training, his 5k pr 15:15 which is no slouch by any stretch of the imagination. May not have trained going backwards but he’s trained going forwards pretty well so it wouldn’t be as hard in reverse.
@jjaycallejas2 жыл бұрын
@@YSoAggressive that’s true. Not that it’s equivalent but my 5k PR is 23 mins. So it seems like there could be a general relationship between forward and backwards times? Though, I busted my ass to run 30 mins backwards training regularly lol. I could imagine these guys could close the 15 min gap quickly with a a couple more reps.
@SacredlyFl Жыл бұрын
@@jjaycallejas Yeah, that relationship would heavily be through their aerobic base. They wouldn't have all the muscle adaptation that would come through backward running training, however, their bodies are used to sustaining high-intensity effort for long periods of time. Ex: People's muscles can give out first while they're running [Endurance], or their body can give out first [Aerobic Capacity]. Backward running feels like running forwards uphill for me (I definitely feel my quads and calve activation are similar).
