They've always been known as longer lasting Pirellis haven't they. Think a part of it is they are more generous with the tread thickness.

I'd agree they do feel firmer to handle wether its the carcas or simply more tread I'm not sure.

Was the Pirelli that wore out in 4 sessions the SC1? What were the track conditions and atmospherics for the sessions? How did the Conti feel compared to the Pirelli? Have only had mine out for a couple of laps during abysmal conditions so no good frame of reference just yet.

Yes it was a SC1, being fair though it may have been combination of factors that made it rip up so early. Firstly, I wasn't pushing very hard so it may have dropped out of its temperature window causing like cold tear. Also I would be cursing then driving and not being particularly smooth with the throttle development. But Jerez is fairly tough on tyres anyway so I guess the SC1 rear was probably the wrong tyre for the coolish conditions. The Conti's felt much more stable under load and powering out of the corners, the wear rate was clearly better however, I was using a Medium which maybe something like an SC2 in comparison. I do rate them highly.
