It’s funny how hard he was breathing after 400 m. Meanwhile he still has to do it for 26.4 more miles to tie the record 😂 And technically he didn’t keep the pace because he started much closer to those hash marks then when he ended meaning he was actually losing ground. But I can’t say anything because even when I was in my prime running shape I couldn’t do 1 mile in under 5 minutes

@@mattkunq you don't always have to run with wind resistance. for that matter a lot of runners (mostly sprinters) purposely run with no wind resistance it's called overdrive training. Jacobs said it wad crucial in his preparation: he used a car with a wind shield behind where he run behind

There’s something weird about the treadmill, every 100m on a treadmill feels like 200m in real life. I hate running on those things, just go out in the real world and run! There’s also the fact that you don’t have to push your legs with a treadmil, unlike real running, you’re also not using half the muscles you’d use while actually running. While on a treadmill, there’s no thrust requirement, you pick up your last leg and you set it in front you. It only helps the contraction of muscles
