The 2018 Mount Washington Road Race was the 58th edition of this iconic mountain race. I was super excited to get my name pulled in the lottery (on my first try!). The race did not disappoint at all. Incredible experience. This race is unlike any other road race out there. I would definitely run it again and hopefully shave a little time off my finish time.
There were 1112 official finishers. There is a 3 hour and 5 minute cutoff time. The race is 7.6 miles with 4,650 vertical feet of elevation gain. The average grade of the course is 12% with max grade of 22% over the final 50 yards (The Wall!).
The volunteers and logistics at the race are amazing. Kudos to all of the water station volunteers, those directing runners along the course and the parking lot attendants packing all those cars in up at the top.
I finished in 336th place, 1:46:26, 14 min pace.
