I'm about to order an eg100 from Woodmizer, problem being I've not seen one in action and any videos I do see of them it only shows the good side. I see that you've decided to go back to the mill to edge the boards now. Did the edger not live up to what your expectations were? Does the edger speed up board production on 1" boards? Cheers John

Yes Sir. we now do all our edging with the mill. To be honest, if you mill solo to me it’s extra work, time I moved the boards from the mill to the edger and ran them threw it, it took longer. And one thing I didn’t care for on the edger was slider adjustment for board sizes. It would get jammed up from the saw dust build up. And also the shift that it slides on would surface rust and would make it hard to adjust. So to me it wasn’t worth the time or the extra fuel to run it, so we sold it. And there is a couple design flaws that they need to work on also on the machine. Hope I didn’t discourage you from buy one , just my feelings and honest opinion. Appreciate you subscribing and commenting. Take care

i just put a deposit on an EG100. it says the capacity is 2" maximum thickness. I'm worried the machine will bind up if a board has some waves from the mill. Can boards get through if they're 2 1/8 or even 2 1/4? Thanks.

The blade only cuts up to 2” If you run anything thicker threw it it kicks it up and Jams it, and man it is a joke trying to get the board back out because the lid will not lift up because of the kick back fingers won’t lift. We sold ours because it a lot less of a hassle just to do it on the mill. Appreciate you subscribing to our channel and watching the video. Take care

I recently bought a WoodMaxx 9” pto driven wood chipper to thin sapling trees and chip up my slab wood Looks like your machine would be the perfect companion
@MsdMakingSawDust3 жыл бұрын
We been think about getting a chipper later on to help get rid of the slab wood , but so far we been doing ok, a lot of our customers take the left overs for bonfires

I looked up the woodmaxx 9” chipper You got a real nice chipper there.

Why would you need a edger if you saw square cants ??
@MsdMakingSawDust Жыл бұрын
It’s mostly for the cut-offs getting to a square cant. Sometimes you have live edge on both sides or maybe just one side. I no Longer have the edger, it’s just as easy to put them back into the mill and edge, instead of running to pieces of equipment.

Looking for some help! I just got a ed100 in a crate from woodmizer No instructions and just a box of Polish made Wood-Mizer bits and pieces Pulleys are reversed and no technical help from Wood Mizer over the weekend. What a miserable experience Wood-Mizer never again
@MsdMakingSawDust3 жыл бұрын
I have the instruction book that came with mine. The thing I can do is take pictures of the pages and text them to you or email them to you. That’s the way I got my new mill a couple parts books but the instruction books.

Did you get the gas engine model or electric engine ?
@hitied13 жыл бұрын
MSD Making Saw Dust mine is Kohler gas engine Pulley will not go on the engine shaft and there is a nick on the pulley that will eat up a belt. They sent books but instructions are terrible . No sequence Wood-Mizer you tube video to assemble is what I had to go by. No instruction, just music and subliminal message about “ beef . Com” I just can’t believe it
@MsdMakingSawDust3 жыл бұрын
Ok mine is the same. I never had a problem with any of that. Only problem I had was the exhaust melted the lever cable. My pulley slipped right onto my engine shaft. I think I would be asking for a new pulley if it’s going To eat belts up. Make sure u got a exhaust deflector or it’s going to melt your lever cable
