Running Up River - Fishing the Way I Grew Up

Fishing a River I’ve never been to before along with Brody. Neither one of us have ever fished here before and I thought it’d be fun to take the aluminum boat for a spin and see if we can’t catch a few. This river sets up almost identical to a river in Indiana that we both grew up fishing that can be jam packed with fish so this is going to be a fun one. Brody might even toss his stupid tube around. Smallmouth, spotted bass, walleye, trout, largemouth, we’re down for anything that’ll bite!

Lock your eyes where you want the lure to go. Don’t just look the general direction. Pin point where you want it. You body, arm and rod tip will line themselves up. Remember that everything follows your eyes.

those are saugeye...and all those short strikes were them. im on the ohio river and its full of them. a little tip is wait for the 2nd or 3rd bump before you jack him. they like to play with the prey before they eat it. my $.02

Both walleye for sure. Saugeye and sauger have spots on their fins.

Those were walleye/saugeye. Sauger are much darker with copper/orange saddle markings & black spots on the dorsal fin & no white tip.

Walleyes have white tail, so can saugeye but saugeye have spots like sauger on fins.

There both walleye. A sauger and a saugeye will have black dots on the dorsal fin.

lol , no no no, that might as well be saying just call large mouth bass small mouths and spotted bass white bass, they have names for a reason.. those were walleye , saugers have some easy to tell characteristics such as spots all over their fins. Google image, you'll see what I mean.
