The Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 is the latest super shoe to be seen on the feet of the pros and it may just feature the wildest foam compound we've felt to date. We were able to get our hands on a shoe to give you are first thoughts and impressions but we wont see a wide spread launch of the shoe until March 2025 at Running Warehouse!

@@jimmyscutts8082 I cancelled my preorder of ASICS superblast 2 after waiting a whiole month, only to learn that it wouldn’t be available until November; in favor of ASICS’s official release on their website. I got my order within one week. This is definitely supply chain related issue on RW’s end.

Hope Saucony fix the huge supply issues surrounding the Endorphin Speed 4 series. Size 9 was almost impossible to get and a color you liked? Forget it! I guess 5 will be out in spring 2025

Speed 5 is coming out in 2026 as 4 was just released in 2024. There is a 2-year cycle...

@@botrytis_cinerea They told me on the phone 2025. 1.5 year teaser and beta model does not make for great marketing plan. Having said that Saucony I heard had some huge supply chain issues with amounts getting to stores 6 months ago. The Speed 4 was virtually impossible to get once the first lot sold out. Color selection in say 9's? Forget it.

Probably not yet ready for a mass release, could be the cost and logistics or the supply shortage as they are a new foam. Or they still have lots of the v1 in stock.

I just buy the shoe the top Kenyan and Ethiopian runners wear for marathons. Its usually the current years Nike Alphafly or Vaporfly.

@@Rumahoven in a good way. Probably one of the best racing shoes out there. It’s bouncy and forgiving at the same time. For me i would rank it higher than alphafly and vaporfly. Probably up there with metaspeed sky paris, even though its a very different shoe.

Despite the hype the foam on the Elite 2 does not seem much different than the midsole of the squishy Cielo X1. Maybe a slightly lower durometer. But who cares? I just like to add that Saucony ruined the Endorphin line with each iteration. The Speed 3s added winged plate that created an odd cradling sensation. The Pro 3 featured an aggressively tapered forefoot that crames the toes together. Haven't tried Pro 4 or Speed 4 but they look like more of the same but with an even more off-putting aesthetic.

Do you mean the cutout in the middle? Then track back to adidas at least, who did before. In either case, there's not so much diversity you can come up with when it comes to molding weight-efficient construction. Shoes will eventually be very similar.

The Endorphin Pro 4 and Speed 4 were duds for me. I'm wondering if they messed this up as well. I've had good success with the Endorphin Elite from 5k to the half marathon.

I love the Pro 4 but the Speed 4 is so stiff and narrow, its awful. I was on a 10 mile run when with the new speed 4, ran home and put the Speed 3 back on after 3 miles. Wish i could still get the speed 3.

As a runner I respect Saucony … still the ugliest shoes. Worst colorways. Never have the stock of their good shoes (I’m trying to get some Pro 4’s). These shoes seem to be great if you can maintain a sub 6 min/mile over the marathon which rules out 99.73% of runners… but let’s get working on those Pro 4’s and get some better design teams for less offensive ideas - I’m looking at you Pink, Pro 3’s.

Wow, what a disappointment! Any runner with a minimum of experience knows that in order to run with performance, the midsole foam should not be too soft. I completely understand the market's demand for more and more softness due to the new generations “raised” on soft midsoles and who cannot stand firmer midsoles because they find them “too hard”. Ok, I can understand that sneakers for light training or for beginners are increasingly soft to the point that soon the most successful midsole will be the buttery one. But a super performance shoe like this second version of the Saucony Elite has all this softness that you showed is unbelievable. It is precisely Saucony that had a more balanced midsole in terms of firmness, along with Adidas that is so successful in races with practically no carbon plate or with half a plate, after all those energy rods are clearly pure perfume. That's because its Lightstrike Pro midsole is firm and dense. Nike, for example, has excellent ZoomX foam, but it is too soft on its own. That is why the Nike StrikFly, despite being very light, has never taken off, because it is too soft and does not perform well. Nike's best elite athletes, including Eliud, use the Alpha Fly because the gas sphere in the front gives it the necessary firmness to compete with the Adios Pro 3 or the Evo1. The extreme softness of the Vapor Fly Next 3 was once top, but today it cannot compete with Adidas or Assics shoes, for example. Even the new Pegasus Plus (ex-turbo), whose midsole is only ZoomX , uses a new version of this midsole, much firmer and denser. There is confusion when the bouncy effect of a midsole is valued as being very responsive. The final question I leave you with is: When we run, is our main objective to go forward or upward?
