Does anyone remember Jolt? It was advertised as having double the caffeine. I believe it was taken off the shelves in the 90’s but had a comeback in the early 2000’s. I am probably wrong about the dates and times… but I know it was here then gone and then was relaunched. There was also Knee-Hi, not sure if that was the proper spelling, but I remember the commercials where kids and young adults would kick off their shoes. Memories 🤣 🥤

I've had Jolt in recent years, believe it or not! My stepdad found it at some random store 2 or 3 years ago and immediately had to get me a can because I'm 25 and have never had it. It wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy the caffeine.

My grandmother was in a product research group and we got a six pack of vault before it came out. They came in nondescript cans without a name. About a year after we got them vault was on the shelves. As a 13 year old that was one of the coolest things to have happened, I felt super lucky!

My grandmother was in a product research group. We got to try a lot of things that later came out or never did. One of those was vault. It came in a 6 pack of silver cans with no name to them. A year later vault was on the shelves and as a 13 year old seeing that happen and knowing I got to try it before it was out was one of the coolest things to have happened to me!

Josta In 1995, PepsiCo launched Josta, the first energy drink introduced by a major US drink company (one that had interests outside energy drinks), but Pepsi discontinued the product in 1999. This was the time when I was in high school, I used to get it out of the Pepsi machine occasionally. It was black? Or dark purple? I don't remember what it tastes like exactly but it was different.

Heard of it, but only ever found "Sprite Tropical"/"Sprite Tropical Mix". Love it! 6. "Hubba Bubba Soda". Love and miss it! 5. "Coca-Cola Blak". Never heard of it, though I love "Coca-Cola With Coffee", all 4 flavors. 4. "Tab". Love and miss it! Up to now, though, I'd only ever heard of the original flavor. Stunned to learn of the variations. If they'd put it back on the market, all flavors, I'd try every version I could find! 3. "Crystal Pepsi". Love and miss it! When they briefly brought it back, I drank it plenty. Never heard of "Tab Clear", though. 2. "Vault". Love and miss it. Also love "Surge", and drank my share the first time around. Loved and drank it, again when they revived it. Love and miss it, again! 1. "New Coke". Love and miss it! I miss "Fruitopia", too. As for one not mentioned, I miss "Jolt Cola". ("All the sugar and twice the caffeine".)

Orbitz was absolutely disgusting, which is why it was dropped so quickly. It'll never be coming back as coke sold both the website and the rights to the name orbitz to the travel agency when it was discontinued

My mother drank Tab all the time when I was a kid in the 1980s. Also, I personally liked the New Coke. It was later renamed Coke II and discontinued until 2002, but I didnt know where to get it. I would like New Coke to come back. I will admit the best thing about New Coke were those entertaining Max Headroom advertisements.

Tab was so much better than diet coke. It lacked that awful diet coke aftertaste. Good news is Coke Zero is essentially the same thing (or at least the same taste).

@@TheSjuris - actually, new coke was their diet coke recipe, but with sugar instead of artificial sweeteners. Diet coke had gained so much popularity, they thought it would be a good idea. There's a reason diet coke and regular coke don't taste the same, and its not the sweetener, its the formulation. They really should have just kept both on the market.

I heard New Coke was a gambit to protect the patent for the soon-to-expire original formula. (THE COLA WARS by JC Lewis & Harvey Yazijian is a great exposé of Coke vs Pepsi corporate intrigue, including CIA chicanery in SE Asia.) Also, about TAB... My first job was stocking by-the-cup soda vending machines. I thought it was weird all the syrups were packed in plastic jugs but the TAB was in heavy glass jugs, and whenever a syrup pump broke down, it was always the TAB. A tech told me TAB syrup ate through rubber pump diaphragms, so had to be shipped in glass. Hearing that chilled me--my mother loved TAB and died badly of cancer.

I remember the Aspen drink and it was really bad. I also recall that Crystal Pepsi or a form of it was around in 1976 because I just got my drivers license and I was working. I remember it being extremely tasteless. I also remember the Coke recipe change catastrophe very well. I also remember driving two hours to a store that had cases of original Coke in returnable bottles if you can believe that.

TBH, Vault reminds me a lot of my college days. My school touted its cafeteria vendor substantially, mostly because they're a big owner of local restaurants, and in particular their Coca-Cola partnership. Additionally, I recall seeing ads for the drink among Blockbuster Video's in-store promos. I was an avid coffee drinker even then, but on occasion felt like I could use the boost of a Vault here and there. V8 V-Fusion was also new at the time, and that felt like it was necessary to drink.

Never see anyone mention Razcal, or Arizona (yes, the iced tea brand) sodas. For a short while in the early 90s, they had chocolate cola, diet chocolate cola, vanilla cola, chocolate covered cherry cola, and root beer float. I remember the chocolate swirling around in the bottom of the glass bottles, like it was chocolate milk syrup.

Perhaps it waw more regional than I would have known growing up in Chicagoland, But Canfield's had a Chocolate Fudge soda, and the "Diet" Chocolate Fudge was flying off shelves. It was so crazy popular that a Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge and a Cherry Chocolate Fudge were released. I also recall perhaps same company having a watermelon soda called Mickey Melon, endorsed by Mickey Rooney and a Squirt-like beverage called 50/50.

Fruitopia wasn’t carbonated. It was just a fruit-flavored beverage. It still exists in Canada and at a few random McDonalds stores. Thankfully, some of the more popular flavors are still available in the US under the Minute Maid brand.

I remember Rondo came out sometime around 1978 or '79. Our school cafeteria even got a Rondo coke machine. We were all so excited to try this new coke (we call all soft drinks "coke" where I'm from). It was a lemony soft drink, carbonated but not fizzy enough, and it tasted like a toxic waste dump. Few seem to remember it.

My favorite are the other two flavors of Mountain Dew's Dewmocracy- Typhoon and Distortion. Their Taco Bell freezes were incredible. Also, Mountain Dew Whiteout was amazing

I had a bottle of frutopia at my local amc movie theater back in 2000. I remember drinking it while seeing The Emperors New Groove. Such an unique taste. It was very good. Kind of reminded me of SoBe. Everything in those days was "extreme" or Tropical.

Does anyone remember this amazing Sunkist “Citrus Fusion”? It was green, and despite being advertised as citrus, it smelled and tasted like a delicious tree. I don’t know where they came up with the flavor but that stuff was amazing. Far cry from…what is it they have now? Berry lemonade? 🙄

A shame slice only got mentioned in passing. Fun little fact about it though, it's lemon lime flavor was what became Sierra Mist. I really wish I could get Electric Blue Jolt again, it's only been about 15 years LOL

Coca-cola lime was around longer than one year, at least the diet Version. A friend's mom always drank it And in the American market mellow yellow never went away. It was redesigned in 2010 and coke just dropped vault
