Malcolm Jones is one of the greatest guitarists in the world! He deserves far more recognition. I had the pleasure of meeting him on an Edinburgh bus many years ago and he's so cool and chill.

This song is like joy itself rendered into audio form. Love how Bruce just wanders over and you can see him mouth "Locomotion" to Malcolm and he just says OK and rolls with it with a laugh. Absolute pros, sorely missed, but their legacy will stand forever.

Should have been there, would have been there. First gig missed and oh what a gig to miss. Thank goodness for the DVD as the energy is transmitted, down the wire and across the mighty Atlantic. It crosses every river, climbs every hill, and is alive every may morning. Runrig beat the drum, are the pride of the summer and ARE ALBA. They are the modern Ard Righ Albann. Long may they rule.

Who is that bloody "singer"? That's not Runrig :(
@ruaridhhanna8 жыл бұрын
That's Bruce Guthro, he's been the lead singer in Runrig for 18 years now and this song was on the first album he performed with them.
@mgb30688 жыл бұрын
Donnie left in 1997 initially to pursue politics. Bruce Guthro replaced him in 1998. Donnie still tours solo. I was at this gig (above). If you look at other songs on youtube from this event you will see Donnie and former keyboard Pete Wishart (now an MSP) join them on stage.
