Gameplay is a bit clunky but I hope they can do as much as possible to fix it in the next month. However I totally agree that a football game needs content that can last for a whole season. EA did really well with the whole menu content and modes. UFL needs indeed more than 1 game mode. Otherwise it will be boring quickly and people will not play it after a week or two. A more casual mode, a ranked mode and a similar mode to champs would keep people more engaged in UFL. I will definitely try the full game out

UFL is really fun to play, it needs a lot of work but is really refreshing to finally have skill gap. I don’t use press settings or pre set tactics on Fc and I am division 2 I get cooked a lot by defensive AI press settings. So when I jumped on UFL It was fun.

I feel UFL releasing before FC will cause people to play it, try it out, and then realize it still has a long way to go and then hop on FC25. FC has clubs, career mode, Ultimate team, and kick-off. As much as people say the game feel repetitive and dull, no one can compare. UFL might reel in some people from kick off and ultimate team but a majority will stay on FC, especially if UFL is released in an unfinished state. It’s unfortunate but I think UFL should’ve released a couple of months after FC has been released. FC will be stale and UFL would be that breathe of fresh air. It’s going to be tough to see this game get overshadowed

I think they know that a lot of players will write off the game as bad after playing it for a few hours and that this game won't be in a perfect shape even after a few patches and updates,the first year of this game will probably be not that great but they probably count on content creators to check out every patches and inform the community when the game will eventually feel finished/good,cashing up some funds in the process i was concerned like everyone else at first but this make some sense to me now i hope to see the game released on PC soon too 😄

Biggest gap in the market for competitive football games is some kind of online league system. Like divisions in FC but within your division you are put into a 15 team league, top 3 get promoted into the higher division, bottom 3 relegated after playing X number of games. No idea how they could make that work but I would pay good money to be able to play in an actual football league vs dumb point grinding systems that we currently have.

The problem with UFL is that the gameplay and referring to the mechanics feel very clunky everywhere! Really hope they can turn this gameplay around or at least make some significant improvements but I doubt it! Played both betas and in my humble opinion UFL just isn't there yet, i'm shocked they're releasing it this early honestly. Unless like you said Nick, potential deadlines might have just forced their hand. My guess is they're going for the approach of trying to build the game with community feedback, and releasing before FC25 will get some people to check it out but i worry they won't retain many players.

I am hoping it becomes the competitor to EAFC. Hopefully they will not go the same way of making greed and revenue their main priority to the point of ruining the game itself. Would love to be playing this game from the start but will have to wait for old gen release, unless their is a lottery win on its way. NGL, the game coming out in early September, after a disaster of a beta where everyone agreed the gameplay is YEARS away from being good, just makes it seem like UFL is a scam. They're releasing a week before FIFA to try and get the FIFA-haters and just the general populace that is yearning for a new football game to play instead of FC 24. They KNOW that UFL will be mass abandoned by players when FC 25 comes out. They KNOW that one month is nowhere near enough time to implement all the gameplay changes that the game desperately needs. It's a simple pump and dump to recoup some money, especially with the "No P2W" marketing slogan only to immediately offer P2W boosts at release.

Everyone is telling them to delay the game for 3-6-12 months in the comment section of their announcement. They doomed their game with the release date. It being free to play means people wudve tried it no matter when it came out(november-july dead period for football games), having it a week before eafc25 and the new efootball season makes no sense...
