I met Rupaul once, back around 1994, after Supermodel but before his VH-1 talk show. It was at a bar in South Beach, I was a young 20 something gay twink with my little entourage without a care in the world. We were a little star struck over Ru, but Ru made a big fuss over our group of young gays and made us feel like he saw us and we were something. He was so incredibly gracious to us, I’ll never forget it. Will always be a huge fan. ☮️❤️🌈

It's impossible to overstate RuPaul's impact in the 90s. As a queer kid growing up in the Bible belt, Ru was the only example of a queer media star in the mainstream. Seeing Ru on Arsenio and in movies and on TV was all we had, this was before Ellen. He's come to even greater success and his sobriety is obviously key to that. Maybe I should look into working a program. Many DR fans throw hate and shade at Ru, and I'll never understand. I promise the number one person out to get you or ruin the world is not a gay black drag queen.

C'mon please, drag race has made millions , the drag performers are just canon for the show. It used to be fun back when it started, now it's just formulaic like big brother, survivor, housewives . Rupauls Drag Race Italy, Spain, France , UK , downunder, it's Australia actually . GET THAT MONEY MONEY MONEY , Rupaul and producers .

It's lost the spark because the best and real Queens were on years ago. A lot of these young guys don't know the meaning of drag or its history
@dancingonmy0wn10 ай бұрын
no baby. Drag Race is still THAT GIRL. I really hate comments like yours.... Drag Race means A LOT to people specially outside the US. Is it a show that is making queer culture mainstream. I'm sure you say that from your couch on some city in US, but for people in south america we LOVE and NEED that kind of representation in media. It is about money, of course, like everything in the world. Instead of bringing down our own people, we should celebrate the success of the biggest queer platform in the world.
