The kids dont know what Prime RuPaul was capable of... She is THE Drag Supermodel that broke the mainstream glass ceiling. The Lingo, the Attitude, the Height...just out there in full daylight talking to people - black, 7 ft tall, no care in the world. All the challenges on Drag Race represent parts of her career. Design: Making her own stuff in her Punk-Beginnings. Rumix: Releasing Music. Improv: Having a talkshow. Acting: Being in movies and tv shows. Advertising: Building her brand and selling merch. Girl Groups: Her Punk Band in the 80s. Comedy: Creating memorable catchphrases and hosting. Even if she is not that involved anymore, the challenges gives the contestants the tools to do it all.

Anyway later that night,I went to the club to see who this Rupaul was, tiny club in Philly on the floor .Was still outside about to enter, when all of a sudden I see this tall tall human being in a to the sky blonde wig and a short Black patent leather trench coat walking towards the club,it was Ru,and I was mesmerized. RuPaul was the first Queen I had ever seen. I was watching Vh1 at age 17 in small town Georgia when I saw this video . I didn’t even know what a drag queen was back then Because of her I love Queens♥️

Honestly, Ru started the trend of women wearing heavy makeup and runway looks in music videos. Before Ru it was baggy jeans, fitted caps, sneakers or athletic gear.

@@stellabellafontay9366 No hun you're wrong, Ru did not start the trend of women wearing heavy makeup and runway looks in music videos!! It was all the before. Like George Micheal's - Too Funky video came out 1990, 3 years before this video, Madonna's Vogue too and many more. Ru was inspired by them all.

Wass : RuPaul inspired by Madonna?! Girl, get out of here. RuPaul has been wearing makeup for decades. That has been her career. Madonna was a pop star; started many trends and extremely successful. However, RuPaul made up his own rules.
